Editorial Reviews

Review

"It's smooth, tautly written prose [makes] Hear My Cry an absorbing, fast-paced romantic mystery of the highest caliber....The climax delivers a double dose of excitement. Just when the reader thinks everything is settled, the author pulls the proverbial rug out from under then yet again. The denouement provides an upbeat ending to a plot fraught with murder and mayhem. Readers should not be put off by this book's small size. It delivers more page for page than many books twice it's size. Suspense fans, this is a first-rate romantic mystery that should not be missed." --Gothic Journal

From the Inside Flap

Demary (pronounced De-mary) Jones is the owner of Confidential Research and Inquiry, a small firm specializing in genealogy and historical research. Demary knows she isn't qualified to investigate a murder, but when a client is shot as he leaves her office, she accepts the grieving widow's lavish job offer - Money is no object, just find the killer. As Demary herself says, she has a weakness for money, and she doesn't think locating a murderer will be any harder than ferreting out an obscure sixteenth-century ancestor. In any event, detecting doesn't prove to be that easy, even with the help of her old friend, homicide detective Lt. Sam Morgan. But Demary persists to the end, despite three more killings and some unwanted conclusions about people she thought she knew.

Really enjoyed this new author's fresh look at murder and mayhem in Seattle, Washington. Having lived in the Wallingford area most of my life, I got a special kick out of her setting for this somewhat reluctant, sarcastic detective of sorts who finds herself solving the crime in spite of herself. A fun read.
