I'm a new Bill Miller fan and have played this album over and over for the praise it calls forth from my spirit to my God. This is contemporary Christian rock at its best, and the message of unity, love and forgiveness transcends race, gender, age, and creed. The Native American instrumentation and vocalization on songs such as Holy Lands serves to broaden my experience of Christian worship, not just to include another culture but in a mystical way to connect me with my land and the generations who walked this land before me. Not mentioned on the list of tracks is Miller's remake of Bob Dylan's They, a wonderfully poignant reminder of the world's rejection of Christ's message and His messengers. Hear Our Prayer will bring an added dimension to your music collection that will absolutely take your breath away.

Somehow he's gotten the idea that praise music is generally serene and sweet...and he does that exceptionally well, but I've found more personal inspiration from his assertive, bold, guitar-abusing stomps on other CD's. Having seen him live, I'd hoped his new "Praises" remake would capture that live intensity, with uncaged energy and the "All along the watchtower" cadenza. Instead, it's stripped down, delicate and tender. The passive timbre continues until the last song, a triumphant and bright song that my 2-year-old son asks for over and over by name every day ("Play turn me around!").

This is an excellent CD. Motivating and spiritual. I enjoyed listening Bill's rich voice. I love the combination of the Christian message and a touch of Native American music. I recommend you give it a try.

I'm a great fan of bill Miller's music and I was a little bit disappointed by "hear our prayer" that is for me not as good as "the red road" for example. You can buy this cd if you've got all the others and you want to hear more from this extraordinary songwritter and guitarist. like allways, the songs are very well recorded even though there are too much instruments that remove a part of the magic that we expect in a bill miller's work...
conclusion: if you want to buy your first miller's cd, you'd rather take "The red road", the "live" album or the most famous but nevertheless excellent "ghostdance".

Bill Miller's music transcends the categories of Folk, Rock, and traditional Native American music. Bill Miller is a man of strength, courage, and kindness. His live performances are personable, energetic, uplifting and inspirational.

The stirring Hear Our Prayer (released in 2000 by Integrity Records) is Miller's best recording. The lyrics are powerful and full of hope. The music is melodic and harmonious.

This man is wonderful! Here he provides us with fantastic praise and worship music as well as wonderful guitar work. A couple of these songs have appeared on other albums, but at least one he re-recorded for this, with a couple little differences. His lyrics are thought-provoking, his music is moving. I highly recommend any album this man does.

If you're a Bill Miller fan, you'll want this album if just for the last song, his remake of the old spiritual "Ain't Gonna Let Nobody Turn Me Around." This song captures everything we love about Bill.

I was a bit disappointed to find how much the producers of this album had to do with the songwriting. Not sure why they felt the need to write WITH Bill, other than that they wanted to appeal to an audience who may not be familiar with Bill's music but are looking for some 'worship' music. This is great 'worship' music if you compare it to other white stuff out there, but I personally feel that "Ghostdance" and "Spirit Rain" are full of far stronger and truer worship music. If only we sang THOSE songs at church, I'd be able to get more into it. It's cool that Bill is getting to represent the many Native believers in the Jesus Way to the rest of the church, but I hope those who get this CD as their first will go on to buy and love Bill's other music. Still, don't get me wrong, there's some good stuff here, I just wish the other guys had let Bill do ALL the writing for this album.

On the other hand, I like to see this project as Bill reclaiming something. Like in the beautiful old Francis of Assisi hymn (lyrics written almost 800 yrs ago), "All Creatures of Our God" you realize that this is a song for Creator that the first people of this land have sung for a long time while many white brothers sang it hypocritically. And 'Holy Lands' subtley makes you wonder why so many american christians are so passionate about the 'Holy Land' of Israel but don't see this land as being sacred too, having been given by Creator to the First Nations. I see this album also as a humble gift Bill has given to all believers in Creator's Son, and is something that could bridge some chasms. For that, I admire Bill's fearlessness in doing this project, knowing he could get flack for it.

We heard this CD in a Native American shop in St. Augustine, FL and bought it on the spot. Unfortunately it was broken and I replaced it through Amazon. The music is sometimes beautiful, somtimes spiritual, sometimes native, and sometimes full out rocking. My spirituality leans more toward a nature-based philosophy but I still love this music even though it is partly Christian!

Bill Miller is an ever seeking and expanding talent who has let us see his heart in this album. Those who walk with the Lord understand this album and it touches a deeper part of the river than many can understand. I too was blessed to see him perform live with my family. I must tell you we were deeply and profoundly touched by his extraordinary talent and depth of spirit! If you want a truly deep spiritual experience, open your mind to see Our Heavenly Lord through Bill's eyes! He speaks for a people that have been wronged and misunderstood by most of their countrymen.

Mr. Miller's talent is not limited to worship music but if you want to see into the depth of spirit this man has... LISTEN carefully to this collection.

It is one of my favorite worship CD's! Thank you Bill for your honesty of spirit!
