5.0 out of 5 stars A perfect Country Christmas
The selection of songs on this album is brilliant aside from a few mis-steps, though you can't really go wrong with a Country Christmas cd. Carrie Underwood gives one of her best vocal performances on "Do You Hear What I Hear".

2.0 out of 5 stars one song cd
The only song worth listening to is Carrie Underwood's Do you hear what I hear. This could have been sold as a single.

5.0 out of 5 stars A perfect Country Christmas, October 30, 2007
This review is from: Hear Something Country Christmas 2007 (Audio CD)
The selection of songs on this album is brilliant aside from a few mis-steps, though you can't really go wrong with a Country Christmas cd. Carrie Underwood gives one of her best vocal performances on "Do You Hear What I Hear".
Other highlights for me were Kellie Pickler's "Santa Baby" (which fits her perfectly), "Let It Be Christmas" by Alan Jackson (maybe the best Christmas song ever), "Away In A Manger" by Blaine Larsen (This song has been a favourite since I sung it at school when I was younger) and Johnny Cash's take on "Silent Night".
The only bad part is Montgomery Gentry sound really bad on "Merry Christmas From The Family", it's as if they were drunk while recording it.

Do You Hear What I Hear - 10/10
Winter Wonderland - 10/10
Let It Be Christmas - 10/10
Jingle Bells - 8/10
Santa Baby - 10/10
Away In A Manger - 10/10
Please Come Home For Christmas - 5/10
O Little Town Of Bethlehem - 9/10
Merry Christmas From The Family - 0/10
Let's Make A Little Christmas Tonight - 4/10
I'll Be Home For Christmas - 9/10
Santa Claus Is Comin' To Town - 10/10
O Come All Ye Faithul - 10/10
Silent Night - 10/10

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent Sampler of Christmas Music - Country Style, October 24, 2007

This is an excellent sampler of contemporary country Christmas music, though many of the tracks have been previously released by the assorted artists, there are two new tracks featuring American Idol alumni Carrie Underwood (the reigning top CMA and ACM female singer of the year) and Kellie Pickler who was a finalist in 2006.

Naturally, Carrie gets the honored spot at track #1 with her rendition of 'Do You Hear What I Hear?' which is faithful to this traditional song about the true basis of Christmas.

This compilation of country's top singers is well worth the price. I highly recommend it.

4.0 out of 5 stars good variety, December 29, 2007
This review is from: Hear Something Country Christmas 2007 (Audio CD)
There's a variety of styles and artists here, all pleasing renditions of your Christmas favorites, from cute to spiritual. I would have preferred a song other than "Merry Christmas from the Family," however, which is too silly for the rest of this collection. I like Kellie Pickler's rendition of "Santa Baby" better than Marilyn Monroe's! Alan Jackson's "Let it be Christmas" is one of the best!

I bought this CD for the Carrie Underwood and Kellie Pickler covers, but was pleasantly surprised by the rest. A solid collection for country and pop-crossover fans.

I really enjoyed this CD; it played on Christmas Day in the background while we enjoyed our annual family dinner and the opening of the presents. It's nice that current country stars have created an album of carols that are familiar, in both voice and song.

5.0 out of 5 stars Merry Christmas with a country twang, December 17, 2008
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I downloaded this mp3 album to add to my iPod list of Christmas music. What I love about this album is that it's all the familiar music, but with a little different sound, since it's country. I love the one by Kellie Pickler who was one of the American Idol contestants a couple years ago. She sings Santa Baby. I especially liked Winter Wonderland by Brad Paisley. It sounds great with a country twang. About the only one I didn't care for was Merry Christmas From The Family. But all the rest in the mix were top notch.

The downloading is easy on both my Mac and PC. The downloader application that you get free from Amazon makes the whole thing work seamlessly and the music shows up automatically in iTunes. So far everything I've considered has been the same price or less than the iTunes store so I guess Amazon will be seeing a lot more of me!

This CD has some old recordings on it that sound ok. It's the new recordings that make a difference. Carrie Underwood and Kelly Pickler sound great!
