Exciting approaches to biblical interpretation are introduced in this volume by contributors who have already distinguished themselves as leaders in the field of New Testament studies. Each chapter introduces a particular approach to New Testament interpretation and demonstrates how that approach can be used by students and pastors in fruitful work with the New Testament. Five texts from different parts of the New Testament are used as sample texts throughout the book in order to facilitate understanding of the differences among the interpretive strategies.

Joel B. Green is Professor of New Testament Interpretation and Associate Dean for the Center for Advanced Theological Studies, Fuller Theological Seminary.
Prior to his appointment at Fuller Seminary in 2007, Dr. Green was Professor of New Testament Interpretation at Asbury Theological Seminary, Wilmore, Kentucky (1997-2007), where he also held administrative positions first as Dean of the School of Theology and then as Vice President of Academic Affairs / Provost. He has served on the faculties of the American Baptist Seminary of the West and Graduate Theological Union, and New College Berkeley, Berkeley, California, a graduate school of Christian and interdisciplinary studies for the whole people of God.
Characteristic of Professor Green's work has been a keen sense of vocation as a "bridge-builder" -- especially between the academic study of theology and the larger church and world, and between persons and institutions of dissimilar theological commitments.

NT classes receive a diverse set of recommendations blending approaches ranging from historic overviews to literary criticism and newer approaches from theology. First published in 1995, this revised, updated edition has been expansively rewritten and is a pick for any Christian collection.

This book, a compilation of essays by many great scholars, needs to be on your shelf if you call yourself a New Testment exegete! All of the chapters are helpful, particularly the one on discourse analysis and the one on linguistics.Be sure to get this one!
