Good if you can wear it,

The mask blocks light very well, even better than the highly rated Lewis & Clark mask. However if your skin is sensitive the foam backing that rests on your face may cause irritation. After I wore it for one night my face broke out in the area where the mask touched my face. Also the strap that holds it tight caused my ears to turn red where it rubbed on them. The pair of Hearos Ultimate Softness earplugs included with the mask are excellent and the best pair I have ever used. Better to buy those separately and then get the Lewis & Clark mask (not perfect either, but better).

Would be ok for a back sleeper,

I'm a side sleeper and it is too bulky- slides off easily. If you slept on your back without much movement it would probably work well. Also would likely work on an airplane if you aren't concerned about how big it is.

My eyes are really light sensitive, so I sleep much better when I can block out the light (in addition to closing my eyes).
This foam mask allows for me to blink my eyes so I don't feel claustrophobic. The foam conforms adequately so the light is blocked around both my tiny nose and my hubby's big nose. It only feels constrictive around my nose if I am stuffed up with a cold; fortunately we do not have allergies so that is not often. We each keep one mask in our travel bag and one near the bed. We wear it in the summer to sleep until the alarm goes off in the morning. We also wear it for daytime naps and on overnight air travel. I get migraines, so the Hearos mask is a portable "black out room." I hand wash them monthly in Dreft or Woolite. Roll in a thick towel, then step on to blot. Place over a vent or fan to ensure it is dry again by nightime. A few of my masks are several years old and they do get worn out after constant use. One is so old the foam started to decay, so I salvaged the velcro an threw it out. What a bargain they have been for sleeping so soundly! The earplugs are decent. My hubby hates the smell of the sleep lotion--it reminds me of a hospital. I have tried most other masks on the market and this one is the best for us. The memory foam version slips on my face, is hot, and does not blck the light. The ones with a sewn flap around the nose do not block the light around either of our noses. The molded mask (like a thin layer of foam between knit; it comes in many colors) leak light bad and once I do get it positioned so it is dark, it slips and leaks light again. This mask keeps out the light despite my switching fequently between my side and back sleep positions. The mask is worth the nuisance to use it!

I work rotating shift work and have had trouble sleeping during the day in the past. I purchased a couple of these masks a few years ago. I have worn them out and begun trying to find them online. I have recently purchased a few others as I couldnt find this one anywhere. I purchased the fabric/foam type and they are worthless. I purchased another that was very similiar to this for twice the price but it is not as comfortable. This is the cheapest mask out there and it is the best. It blocks out all of the sunlight and you can open your eyelids while wearing it. I sleep on my side/stomach so it did take me a few nights to get use to the plastic piece rubbing against my face but the mask doesnt move.... It stays put. I highly recommend this to anyone.

Love this sleep kit! It's amazing to me the difference that this kit has made, in allowing me to catch some more desperately needed ZZZ's. I tried surrounding my head with pillows. The pillows were extremely effective but, certainly, not the best solution.
When I received this kit, I examined the mask and was skeptical about its comfort level. The foam that goes around your eyes seemed to be OK but I wasn't expecting to see the firm, but flexible, plastic mask (that the foam is attached to). I guess I assumed that it would be made out of a fabric of some kind. I was preparing myself for the big let-down, but was very pleasantly surprised to find out that this plastic frame was not an issue (in the comfort level of the mask). Fantastic mask... it blocks out the light completely. The velcro strap is fully adjustable, so there are no issues with improper fit. The foam around the eyes is super comfortable and molds nicely to your face. One of the nicest features is the ample open space, surrounding your eyes. There is nothing touching your eyes at all, so there is no pressure on them. You can open and close your eyes without your eyes or lashes touching the mask at all. Great mask, good earplugs, and nice bonus lotion. I liked this kit so much, that I bought another one as a gift.

Don't bother,
This review is from: Hearos Deep Sleep Kit (Health and Beauty)
This sleep mask is a piece of paper-thin plastic with foam on the inside. The thin plastic ripped almost all the way through after using it twice, rendering it unusable. The velcro straps are its best feature. Neither did it, completly, block out light for me.
I think one star is over-rating this but there wasn't an option for none.

Hello, I will admit this product isn't fancy. Not in the least! But it was very affordable, and guess what... I simply adore sleeping masks when I sleep, and although I was a bit unsure when I opened this little box, it's true!, it does leave room for "blinking", so your eyes don't feel "smushed"...! And, it's very soft, comfortable. Those li'l earplugs (came with the box), are sooo soft, it was just enough to keep out the noise of the t.v. in the next room (grown kids who won't keep a steady sleep schedule). It's just that I lost the earplugs right away! When I take them out, I put them on the bedside, and they just rolll away in to "space".. lol... so, I recommend a safe little holder for those little things! They are comfy, though, almost like taffy...
I recommend!

Natural help for insomnia!,

After reading that the sleep centers of the brain are effected by even the little red and green lights from DVDs and clock radios. I tried this product to improve sleep. The sponge which surrounds the eye socket is soft and deep enough that you forget you're even wearing the mask. It blocks out light so well that you have the illusion that the room is pitch black. I fell in love with this product the first time I tried it. After much coaxing, I got my husband to give it a try. Now he's hooked on these masks too. If you have trouble falling asleep or getting back to sleep after awakening, give this mask a try! It sure beats sleeping pills!

The best mask I've ever worn,
By Frater J (IL United States) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Hearos Deep Sleep Kit (Health and Beauty)
As someone who worked midnights for several years, a sleep mask really helped me. After a whle I couldn't fall asleep, I couldn't wake up, my days and nights were mashing into one another. Sleep masks really helped me regulate my sleeping. And this is the best mask I've ever worn.
I sleep face down. I know that's strange, but its what I do. So regular masks pressed into my eyeballs and were too uncomfortable to wear. This has a lot of padding that goes around the eyeball, allowing me to sleep normally and not press against my eyes. Perfect! If you live in a place that is loud, the kit comes with ear plugs, which I do not need, but have worn. They are compfortable and not distracting. They dull the sound without deafening you, and you'll still hear the alarm clock. I got this kit for about 4 bucks on sale at the grocery store. Easily worth 10 times this.

I find that the Hearos Deep Sleep Kit really helps a lot. Let me start by saying I keep strange hours, due to years of working swing and graveyard shifts, so I find myself having to sleep while it's light outside. The "blackout" mask that comes with the kit is by far the best I've found. However, their quality control could be better - sometimes the mask is a bit loose due to a tiny bit too much elastic. But the elastic attaches together behind your head with velcro, so you can usually size it to fit just fine. The kit also comes with a pair of soft foam earplugs in case noise is a problem for you while sleeping in the daytime (or whenever). Since the earplugs are so soft, they are quite comfortable and the detailed instructions make it easy to insert them properly. Finally, this kit includes a bottle of an herbal-scented lotion designed to help relax you, to help you into a state where you can get to sleep. I personally don't care for the smell of the stuff, but you might. I never use it and seldom use the earplugs. But it's good to have all these things handy when you need them.
