I bought these for hearing protection underneath my full-face motorcycle helmet. I had always thought that my HJC helmet was very quiet while riding, but some hearing strain after taking the helmet off convinced me to try some earplugs. I looked at reviews for several different brands and styles (loose earplugs, connected by lanyard), and decided on these because of the good review. I tried these on a 300 mile ride, and the difference in hearing strain was night and day. The wind noise traveling over the motorcycle windshield and around the helmet was significantly reduced, as was annoying tire howl. I truly value my hearing, and I will never ride without these earplugs ever again.

The only trouble with these plugs (and I assume for ear plugs in general) is the initial insertion. The learning curve with inserting these into the ear canal is quite high. The best way to insert is to:
- Compress the earplug by rolling between your hands
- Reach over your head with the opposing hand and pull the ear backwards and up (to help straighten the ear canal) and insert the plug into the ear in the direction of your nose.

It took me a few times on each side to get them inserted correctly, but subsequent uses have become faster and easier.

If you value your hearing, especially those people riding motorcycles, these earplugs are indispensable.

I got these as my first ear plugs, and used them at the office. They were great, they blocked out a lot of the noise, and they were large enough that people could see I had ear plugs in, and meant business about blocking out everything else.

Cons: They're fairly uncomfortable to wear for a long time, they break down pretty quickly, and they don't provide as much sound blockage as some of the best earplugs out there which are actually selling for cheaper.

I recently started using them on my motorcycle, and found I was still getting a ton of noise in through the, both pairs that I'd worn before, and brand new pairs. I tried out a pair of

3M Single Use E-A-R E-A-Rsoft FX UnCorded Earplugs QTY/ 200 Pairs
E-A-R EarSoft FX

and found they were incredible.

Much more comfortable
Much better noise blockage
Could keep them in for longer, and didn't get any ringing in my ears.

They're smaller too, so they collected less crap in my ears, and they were easier to put in and take out.

Overall, the Hearos are way better than nothing, but lag significantly behind some of the best of breed out there.

I got this at walgreens for $4 dollars. A bigger pack with 12 pairs and also the case. The case is extremely handy, I love it. And the earplugs itself is really good. It fits comfortably (go to the website to see a little flash on how to insert the earplugs for maximum usage). It is a bit too big though. By the time I woke up, one of them fell off my ear. But it's all good. I live right in the heart of downtown where the cable cars ring all through the night and people are walking through the streets, drunk people shouting, people partying, and smoking weeds through the night, and inconsiderate people down the hall laughing and talking at 3 midnight, not to mention that the wall is as thin as a sheet of paper--or worse. I have been unable to sleep for 2 weeks and have been seriously opting to have sleeping pills. With these, I slept through the night and all noises are blocked out. If you have trouble sleeping like me, try these first and see if it works.

These work well enough so that I can sleep with my husband snoring like a fiend next to me. That said, I actually bought them as hearing protection for riding my motorcycle. They don't provide the same level of noise reduction that my higher density foam plugs do for riding, but are more comfortable. So, I'll wear these at night and go back to the more rigid foam plugs for riding.

I like the earplugs, but the product title says 'Pack of 3'. I received only one package of 7 pairs. What a ripoff.

I am super sensitive to sounds, especially at night. I just moved from a quiet country area to Boston and the noise was killing me! I couldn't even sleep because of all the noises, especially street traffic and neighbors above us. I tried maybe 4 or 5 different brands of ear plugs and these ones are by far the best. For one they keep the most sound out and for two they are the softest. My ears never hurt even after several hours of wearing them. They block out most sounds, very good at blocking out higher pitched sounds, sometimes I can still hear low or bass like sounds.

These work great compared to some others I have tried. They are a little big but can be squashed into your ear.

was looking for something to wear under electronic earmuffs (howard leight) to add to their protection.

saw great reviews on these.
bought them and love them.

very comfortable - at least for me wearing them for an hour or so.

very effective, even without additional earmuffs, though i use electronic earmuffs at the range so i can hear people speak to me.

highly recommended.
i like them so much i stocked up on them.

I bought these to read in bed while my husband watches tv. Out of the 7 in the package 1 kept its shape and that was before I put it in my ear. You touch it and it automatically turns to what I would call a wadded up piece of chewed gum. So putting this thing in your ear if you can keep its shape while holding it... It does not fit the ear canal properly you can still hear just about everything going on. I even heard our dog snoring on the floor opposite side of the bed!

I would not recommend sorry - I hate leaving bad reviews but this is not a personal dislike it is a mfg flaw.

These are little blue miracles. I thought all earplugs were the same, so I had been using cheap orange plugs I got free on a plane or train or somewhere years ago to block out noise at night. At my wits end with noisy neighbors and an active cat, I finally searched online for a recommendation and found these. Right out of the box, I could tell they were were different. The foam is a little thicker and holds its shape for much longer than the plugs I was used to. This means you have to take a little more time placing them properly in your ear, but the added effort is worth it. Once I got these in, I could barely hear a thing. My neighbors had hired a live band to play on the roof of our building that night, but I was oblivious. Needless to say, it was the best night's sleep I'd had in a long time. Two notes if you plan to buy: earplugs don't knock out vibrations (such as someone upstairs knocking around), but these will lessen that noise. Also, you might want to buy a bigger box if you plan to use them often, as they need to be replaced periodically.
