Great American Score,
This review is from: Hearst Castle: Building the Dream (large format film soundtrack) (Audio CD)
I first heard this score at a listening station in the gift shop of a wonderful natural history museum, and I bought it on the spot. It is one of the greatest American Scores I have ever heard, and I have quite a few in my collection. In my opinion, Sam Cardon is equal to John Williams, the film composer, in talent, melody and scope. Though Sam mainly composes for documentaries (I have found as yet, anyway), his music brings to these documentaries a quality you hear in motion pictures released in theatres. If you own any Sam Cardon scores, and do not have this one, do yourself a great favor by adding Building A Dream to your collection. I believe it his his best!
