On August 17, 1951, a cool and overcast day in San Francisco, thousands of mourners lined California Street, the side of Grace Cathedral, for the last rites for William Randolph Hearst, known to the Chief. The Hearst were for a moment a family united. The five loyal sons-George, William Randolph, David and John- flaked the grieving thought estranged window, Millicent. Richard Berlin and Martin Hubert h of the Hearst Corporation were there. missing were Marion Davies, W.R.'s mistress of the thirty years, and hundreds of his Hollywood friends, a result of what one of them recalls today as " the worst piece of bitchery the world has ever seen"...
