I read this book, here in Brazil.I found it on an internet site, some years ago.Samuel Baker, one of the biggest explores of Africa, married with a former slave, went to Africa, during XIX Century.His exploration of Africa is the subject of this book.He was complete sincere.Mosquitoes, deseases, slavery, animals,etc. are described in this book.
