Exceptional CD -- God is truly working in Carman's life,

This CD has been in my CD player ever since I bought it. I listen to it over and over again. If you have never heard of Carman this is the CD to buy. All of Carman's song are so founded on God's Word and if you notice almost all of the songs mention God, not like some other Christian artists that never mention God in their songs. I'm not being critical but I strongly believe that we should always remember that God should be the central theme. I'm so excited because in 3 days i get to see Carman in concert at the Baltimore Arena. I know it will be a powerful night. If you are thinking about getting this CD.....well don't think anymore, just buy it, trust me you won't be disappointed. I must be honest I don't love every single song but I would venture to say that I love about 90% of the double CD set. God Bless and Enjoy

The name "Carman" is synonymous with Christian music. Almost anyone who has ever listened to Christian music has at least heard of him, and one of the main reasons for this is the fact that as an artist, he can do it all. And he has! Rock, rap, soul (both regular and extra-spicy Caribbean), country/western, contemporary, dance, house...you name it, Carman's not only done it, but done it splendidly. This latest mammoth collection of greatest hits is a testament to Carman's versatility. I was taken on a rollercoaster ride of emotion listening to both CDs. High-energy rap and dance tunes like "Who's in the House" and "Addicted to Jesus" gave way to heartfelt ballads ("Hunger for Holiness") and straight-up praise songs ("Let the Fire Fall"), then detoured into a bit of country ("Satan, Bite the Dust!"), then dipped into a James-Bond-esque theme ("Mission 3:16")...you get the idea. There's a flavor of every kind in this collection, and it makes for a very entertaining and uplifting listen. There are also 6 brand-new songs, some of which are in Carman's new movie ("The Champion"), and they're awesome. "Faith Enough" has got to be my favorite; my heart soars every time I hear it. And what's a "greatest hits" comp without his greatest hit of all, "The Champion"? The song's over ten years old, and hasn't lost a bit of luster; a chilling and exciting tale of the last battle between God's son and the Devil. Overall, this is a great compilation of songs from his most recent years, and it's a no-brainer for any fan of the ultimate musical storyteller. I'd recommend it to anyone.

I have been a fan of Carmen for many years now, and I faithfully look forward to the Blessings of his music. I know that anything Carmen and God put together are a "Work of Art". This collection is just an indication as to the Faith and Love Carmen puts into his music and his constant work in getting the "Word" out through music. Today marks my 20th Wedding anniversary and the track "I promise" said it all, what memories I have been blessed with. I have just about everything he has put together and I never tire of listening to any of his music, especially during the tough times and trials. This CD set will bless you, no matter what type of music you like. Keep on Blessing us Carmen!

This CD is full of great new songs & some 'oldies' that are favorites. If you do not have any Carman CDs, I would suggest this one because of the compliation. The 4 of the new songs I use as my workout music. So if you like to move, they're inspirational that way as well.

After checking out this cd from the public library, I could not wait to buy it. My favorite songs are: "Heart of a Champion"--for the uplifting lirics; "My story"-- for the "hawaian-like rithm. I am not embarrased to admit that when I heard this song I just got up and danced for about an hour. The song that touched my heart was "I promise"--A wonderful song to play at a wedding. Honestly, I liked most of the songs. I f you don't have the cd, just get it. You will not be disapointed.

Another "Best Of" For Carmen!,
By
This review is from: Heart of a Champion (Audio CD)
Carman has been in the music business for decades already, so he has a lot of songs to offer in his various "Best of" albums. And this one is no different. With 90s classics like "A Witch's Invitation," "Satan, Bite the Dust," "Sunday School Rock," and "No Monsters," this album will remind you of just why you like listening to Carman in the first place. And for those of you who aren't yet Carman fans, this album will give you a glimpse of the many various song styles that he is so well known for.Out of the 30 songs on this album, six of them are new, including "Heart of a Champion," which was the title soundtrack to Carman's 2000 movie "Champion." Though the title song is the best of the new songs, it doesn't come close to comparing to what Carman is best known for. The six new songs notwithstanding, this is a perfect album to add to your Carman collection, or to start a new Carman collection with.

Carman has a passion for Jesus and his desire to evangelize through his music is wonderful. God has gifted him with a beautiful voice and a great talent for writing awesome lyrics and he is using it for the glory of God.Songs from several of his earlier albums, which I do not own, are included on this double CD. His skit on "A Witch's Invitation' is thought provoking and great to know that 'greater is the One that is in us then the one that is in the world'. I also found his new song "We Need God in America Again" to be so true and profound,. America has moved away from the gospel of Jesus Christ to a 'higher power' whatever that power may be and this is so sad that millions of people are not hearing the gospel of Jesus Christ on which the constitution was based. Who will be answerable for these lost souls? Definitely not the ones that have listened to this song and taken it to heart! I have several albums by Carman, including "Passion for Praise", "I Surrender All", "The Absolute Best", "The Standard" and "Revival in the Land". Heart of a Champion is a great addition to my collection and I would recommend this album to anyone wanting to listen to something different and uplifting. |
