3.0 out of 5 stars Strong debut
This CD was cool but then again with the backing of Fred Hammond you couldn't expect much else. Shea Norman has a great jazzy sounding voice as reflected in songs like 'My Heart Depends On You.' He also does traditional style gospel extremely well on songs like Fell In Love With Jesus. However it must be said the real stand out song is his take on Tis' So Sweet with just...

Clarity, distinction, soothing, comforting, and edgy are all words that attempt to describe the voice of newcomer Shea Norman. But you have to hear it to believe it. With a variety of gospel genres including gospel jazz, quartet, praise & worship, and even a little hip-hop, Shea Norman proves that he has woven a new niche in the gospel industry. Under the experienced production wings of contemporary gospel pioneer Fred Hammond (who continues to show he has a great eye for talent) Shea shines apart from the rest. Tracks like "More and More" and "Fell In Love With Jesus" will excite you as tracks like "Supplier of our Need" and God of Love" will cause you to think and worship. A must have for any gospel collection, Shea Norman is sure to enjoy a long-standing career in gospel music as he has demonstrated his committment to blessing the body of Christ with the ministry of song.

5.0 out of 5 stars Truly Anointed!!!, October 4, 2004
This review is from: My Heart Depends On You (Audio CD)
This album is awesome! Shea Norman is extremely gifted with vocal and instrumental abilities. Deliverance Will Come is one of the most sensational worship songs I have ever heard recorded on an album. Being from Memphis, I have the honor to say that what you hear on this album is authentic and genuine. It's a must have!

5.0 out of 5 stars Respect! The Holy Spirit speaks through Shea Norman, March 14, 2006
This review is from: My Heart Depends On You (Audio CD)
Bless God. I heard his version of "'Tis so sweet" and decided to buy it through my cd club and what a blessing! The rest of the cd as well is ministry in music. I can really play a cd too much but this one I cannot get enough of the production of Fred Hammond on here is crazy! As a writer of gospel music it goes to show when you move out of the way and let the Holy Spirit have His way God will use you bless the hearts of many. God bless you Shea may your gift continue to bring God glory. I'm looking for the next one!

5.0 out of 5 stars Annointed voice, November 29, 2005

Shea Norman is a very annointed man with a voice out of this world. I have to say, if you enjoy soul and R&B, you will love this album. Shea Norman is like the Stevie Wonder of Gospel. You can jam but also get your praise on. This album is a must have. As an R@B lover, I was so excited when I reveiwed this album.

4.0 out of 5 stars This is not a sleeper, July 19, 2005
This review is from: My Heart Depends On You (Audio CD)
I am so happy for Shea finally getting some love on Amazon. I bought the CD last year(2004) at Media Play after seeing....of course Fred Hammond's producing credits. The first thing I noticed was this man's dedication to his roots of quartet singing from church. The segue from the first song "More and More to Me" into Fell In Love With Jesus" was tight. All I could see was four deacons leave the pews during service and come to the front of the church for their Male Chorus selection. But that's not it. He does not only have that quartet style but has a ministry for some "layin' prostrate before God" worship in him to. He is serious for God as is evident in my favorite "Tis So Sweet" and others. This Cd is fresh and his voice is very unique of the gospel singers today.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great New Artist, March 18, 2005
This review is from: My Heart Depends On You (Audio CD)
I got interested in Shea Norman when I found out he was on Fred Hammond's label and I heard him sing on Fred's "Song Of Strength." I saw the album in stores but didn't buy it. Then I sampled it online. I should have known that Fred Hammond, being the talented musician that he is, would know great talent when he heard it. "My Heart Depends On You" is a pleasant surprise. Shea Norman's jazzy vocals really shine on "More and More to Me" and "Deliverance Will Come." I also thoroughly enjoyed "This Is the Day" and "God of Love." The title track was an interesting and thought-provoking remake of an earlier song by Fred Hammond. It took a while to grow on me, but it did. The album is a must have. Shea Norman is a very talented artist and he deserves some support and recognition for his debut album.

This project is hot!! Fred Hammond produces the great talent in Shea Norman. His vocals are as clear as a bell. My favorites are 'Tis So Sweet & his remake of My Heart Depends on You. If you like a pure singer, this must be in your collection.
