Product Description

This spanky panky reminds us of a tube of toothpaste, but way cuter. The pancreas produces digestive enzymes so you can eat, but it is best known for making the hormone insulin, which processes glucose and sugar from the bloodstream. Isn't that sweet? The 8" x 5" plush comes with a handy tag telling you all about this wonderful gland organ.

I purchased this for a teen who had pancreatitis. Maybe it wasn't the most appropriate of gifts but he loved it. It is about the size of an actual pancreas (which is to say, not very big) so if you were planning on building a companion from the inside-out the "I Heart Guts" collection is a good place to start.

I love my plush pancreas, but everyone should know it is really much too small to be a travel pillow, only 8 inches across. It might make a great travel pillow for someone as diminutive as Kermit the Frog, but then again, Kermit always flies first class.

I love this little happy pancreas! I've had a bad pancreas for years (chronic pancreatitis 7 years and insulin dependent diabetic for 2) and love having this cute happy one. My friend gave this to me a few weeks before I went in for major surgery on my pancreas. I had it sitting on my windowsill with cards & stuff, my docs got a kick out of it, esp. the endos.
I have to agree its not a would not work as a travel pillow unless you were under 5 years old... I uploaded a pic I took after surgery, holding it about where the pancreas really is, (for fun for my pancreatitis friends) and you can get a good idea what size it is.

I've had way too many arguments over this travel pillow and now I feel I must respond. It's not a spleen, folks, it's a pancreas! I mean, c'mon! One regulates blood sugar, the other recycles red blood cells! They don't even look alike, and who would be lame enough to make a spleen pillow, anyway!?! Bottom line, if you need a pillow for long flights or can't find anything for your friend in med school, this is it!
