Another book to continue the story of the Conner Clan , a band of Scottish warriors charged by Archangel Michael to protect the earth from demons. These brave men know the secret to time travel but it's a hard life leaving behind those who you love. Destined to keep fighting the Conner clan are alive and living centuries beyond their time as both descendants and original warriors continue their battle.
Tavis Conner wanted nothing more than to help save his brother Faelan when he followed him into the future. It's imperative that none of the demons get their hands on an ancient book that lists all the warriors and their strengths but Tavis hadn't expected to be captured by the one thing he's hunting . Now he's held prisoner and cruelly tortured with no clear memory of who or what he is but one things certain when he gets the chance he is going to rain down a world of pain on his jailers!
Anna is that rarest of things a female warrior! Determined to pull her weight and take out the demons that stalk the world she will do whatever it takes . She's still hurting from the recent death of her friend Angus when she overhears two men plotting against the Conners. Following one of them she discovers an ancient castle hidden by magic and within its depths a man who is clearly a warrior but has no recollection of it. Anna wants nothing more than to help the man escape but ends up being captured herself and then her worst nightmares come true! This is a series best read in order as there's an awful lot going on. I think if you just pick this book to read without the benefit of previous books then it might be a little confusing. There are a lot of characters involved in these books and keeping straight in my head just who is who and how they connect is a complicated thing at first.

What can I say but, brilliant. After reading along to Anita's "Highland Warrior" series, the more engrossed I became.
If your looking for a roller coaster ride of mystery, intrigue and romance, to name but a few of the emotions I felt when I turned each page, then look no further. From kilt clad warriors protecting humanity from demons and vampires alike, to eccentric red headed barmy aunts and her unusual cat.
Heart of the Highland Warrior continues on from Embrace the Highland Warrior. We learn more about Anna, and find out what happened to Tavis, Faelans brother. Each of the Highland Warrior books are linked by their characters, so there is a continuation of their stories. This one is Tavis and Anna's story.
Anita knows how to keep the story moving along, and you know from the first page til the last, you won't be disappointed.
Well done Anita, and thank you.

It's a must read, but I would suggest reading the books in order. So far this summer this is the best series that I have come across. Love it, you have to read it, it's a very good love story.

So far my favorite in the series! I cannot wait for the next to see what happens and who it happens to.

The book keeps you on your toes the entire time and there were a few surprises that I did not see coming.

I loved the relationship between the two main characters and the depth that Anita went to with explaining how they were feeling, it really helped me get into the characters minds while I read.

It was great catching up with the characters from the earlier books and to see how they have progressed so far.

If you haven't read the other books in the series I suggest you do that first so you can keep up with all of the characters and their relationships.

I couldn't have been happier with this book and how it kept me hanging. Even now I am just thinking of all the different ways Anita can take the next book!

I give this latest book by Ms Clenney 10 stars!! I've read this entire series and just love it!! The present day Highland Warrior Connor Clan is out to protect one of their own and won't let anything--not even a wedding--to get in their way. This story even has a century old warrior--who hasn't aged a bit-- who is here to help save and protect. Sexy warriors, both male & female, twists and turns, demons and vampires, romance, battles--Wow!! This book has it all !! And what an ending!! Which isn't really an ending-- You'll be so glad that you bought this book!!

Anita Clenney has done it again with another of her Highland Warrior novels! This story has danger, intrigue, romance and a whole bunch of sexy warriors...and the best part is that women are represented! Plenty of twists and turns and not to give anything away, but Faelan isn't the only one left of his family...definitely a must read!

Format: Paperback
Unlike the second book in this series which I gave 5 stars this one was a letdown. This book did very little to contribute to the series. Mysteries introduced in the first and second books are NOT answered in this one. I guess there will be more books? This book created a few new mysteries and then sort of answered them. It really wasn't very well developed. Anna isn't that impressive. You feel sorry for her because her "friends" keep blabbing her most personal and humiliating secrets to the whole clan. She is sort of pathetic because she can't even buy or carry a cell phone to call for help when she is in frequent danger. The hero is ok. The climax was the worst. The warriors keep monologing or kissing instead of finishing off the demons. Let me stand here and not kill you while you get your strength back or help comes to foil me. Duh! Kill him THEN kiss.
SPOILER alert. Truthfully, any book which starts with the hero raping the heroine, even when he's forced at gunpoint, is not my idea of a good romance.
