5.0 out of 5 stars This is one of the most sensuous collections of music ever., February 17, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: To the Heart (Audio CD)
The first time I heard this album was sometime in the late 70's, several years after its release. I am usually very critical about music I hear for the first time. I am very demanding about vocal quality, smoothness and logic of harmony progressions, and professionalism in instrumental technique.

This album blew me away.

Since then, I have reveled in its subtle ecstasy. All the songs on this album are great, but "Here Comes The Rain," "Trade Winds" and "Busy on the Line" are songs that exicite the senses and draw out powerful emotions.

If you're tired of listening to music that just leaves you flat, give this album a try. It's truly a feast for the whole psyche; true ear candy.

5.0 out of 5 stars Well Worth the Wait!, February 27, 2007
This review is from: To the Heart (Audio CD)
I finally found a copy of this on ebay from Germany and purchased it for almost as much money as the Fan Club box set by Jellyfish. Well worth it!! The sound quality is very good and the songs are pure beauty. The true surprise is Busy On The Line, a true rocker with Billy Cobham going beyond himself on the drums. This album, along with the secret assault of Johnny Almond on sax and flute has a lot of violin courtesy of Greg Bloch which adds a new dimension to their sound. For beginners, check out Black Sun greatest hits for all their music prior to this CD. Good luck finding this one, I waited a year on Amazon and ebay, as well as Gemm before I finally found it. As always, under great headphones will send you to a land you rarely get to enjoy. Happy hunting!

5.0 out of 5 stars Long time coming, long time gone, September 25, 2006
This review is from: To the Heart (Audio CD)
The M/A rendition of 'New York State of Mind' is incomparable. The Album is esoteria to the nines. That's why WE in the know can't get it on CD. I've a wax version. I want to memorialize it digitally. Where 'o where?

5.0 out of 5 stars great jazz-rock synthesis, December 6, 1998
By A Customer
This review is from: To the Heart (Audio CD)
great drummer, great jon mark vocals, any fan of this greatly under-rated band should like this 1976 effort.Mark-almond is usually pegged as a jazz-rock fusion band, but this is vastly missing the lyrical song-writing talents of jon mark, the band leader.A 70's band that is unfortunately greatly forgotten!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Timeless Gem, June 13, 2008

This review is from: To the Heart (Audio CD)
I first heard this when it came out and I was working in music stores. I bought it for all my friends! Some songs veer wildly from desperation to tranquility. Other songs blow you away with their drive, in no small part due to Billy Cobham's premier drum work. It all comes together into one fantastic recording. It was Mark-Almond at their best.

Unfortunately, the only time I've seen the CD is on E-bay for hundreds of dollars.

5.0 out of 5 stars I'm trying to find the CD!, November 19, 2005
This review is from: To the Heart (Audio CD)
I have this on an old vinyl, but over the years it has become scratched. I am trying to find it on CD now, but I can't find one. Does anyone know where I can purchase the CD?

It is GREAT! It brings back so many good memories of my "younger" years!
