This is the follow-up to Goldrush's 2005 US debut "Ozona". Hailing from Oxford, England, these five musicians can best be described as Flaming Lips meets Grandaddy and Wilco. Combining the classic elements of indie rock folk with swirling, fuzzed-out guitars make Goldrush a band that relies on equal parts old and new.

According to the band's website, this group was just about through after their last album. Music fans are lucky that they decided to try and make it work, the result of which was the best album of early 2007.

With noticeable influences in The Flaming Lips and Radiohead, Goldrush offers a lush, spacey sound to complement the big-picture, universal lyrical themes that journey through the modern city life, technological dilemmas, and the hardships of an impossible social condition.

And in the end, Goldrush's solution to the challenges they present is nothing new--it is the musical theme par excellence, love--but the band is believable and convincing in their promotion of "the heart" unlike so many modern rock bands who issue the same demand for love.

The melodies and instrumentation are masterfully crafted and flow into a cohesive whole just like any great album's do. This is a real treat for anyone who likes music that makes a point. Enjoy, and hopefully these guys will stick together for more work!
