5.0 out of 5 stars Good Book
I Usually read mystery books and Thrillers but I read the book sisters by Kathleen Thompson and liked it so I decided to try this book. Her books are of simpler times. In this book Rachael is married and is not happy with her life and gets a divorce which is unheard of in these days and remarried to a man she is in love with. But in turn several years later her husband is...

3.0 out of 5 stars Very Slow
This book was ok but it starts out very slow. It was free so the price was right. I am glad I did not pay for it since it seemed to take forever to get somewhere.

But in turn several years later her husband is foolish and thinks he is in love with a young girl and Rachael is devastated
she is still in love with him but will not be humiliated.A very romantic read and wonderful descriptions of the period and the way relationships used to be.

This was a beautiful love story with intrigue, twists and turns to keep the reader wanting to read. Characters were believable and writing flowed beautifully. A joy to read and loved the ending.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Read, July 15, 2010
This is the second book I've read from Kathleen Thompson Norris. Her tale of divorce and remarriage, wife and mistress, love lost and refound, was great. There are no villains here, just people making choices, living with the consequences. I found myself sympathizing with Rachel, even with the young actress whom her husband falls for.

This was so well written and the plot was so perfectly executed. By the end, I cared so much for the characters, I hated to believe things would not end well for them. I raced to the end and now plan to read it again, more slowly, savoring the author's talent. I will remember these characters forever.

5.0 out of 5 stars Some things just don't change, January 15, 2012

This book was offered free for Kindle at one time. I downloaded it, having no idea what it was about - but hoping it wasn't a romance novel. I was so pleasantly surprised! This book is set in "high society" in the early 1900's. It is written with so much description and character development, you feel like you are there. It amazed me to see that there are issues such as divorce, infidelity, friendships, confusion about relationships that have not changed in 100 years! This book made me want to curl up with a cup of tea and savor the story. I plan on reading all books available by this author. I think the best surprise from my Kindle has been that I have discovered so many authors I would never have read. Thank you Kindle!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Never judge a book by its cover!, December 31, 2011

I purchased this book based on its title thinking it was about the Rachael in the Bible. So then I started reading it. I found it to be very enthralling. At times difficult to put down even through the more laborious sections. It was a indeed great read and would recommend it highly.

3.0 out of 5 stars If you stick with it you will enjoy it, March 2, 2011

I think it took me half way through the book on kindle not sure what page, to care that I was actually reading it. The last portion I couldn't wait to see how it ended. I think there was a bit to much flowery discription for my taste.

I tried to read another book I think it was Snow Falling on Cedars, I put it down after the 30th page of just descripitons of the grass.

I am glad I stuck with The heart of Rachel it was a sweet love story.
