Book Description

February 8, 2006
It was Saturday, and a half-holiday; it was that one day of all the year when the seasons change places, when winter is visibly worsted, and summer, with warmth and relaxation, bathing and tennis and motor trips in the moonlight, becomes again a reality.

5.0 out of 5 stars Good Book, May 23, 2009

I Usually read mystery books and Thrillers but I read the book sisters by Kathleen Thompson and liked it so I decided to try this book. Her books are of simpler times. In this book Rachael is married and is not happy with her life and gets a divorce which is unheard of in these days and remarried to a man she is in love with. But in turn several years later her husband is foolish and thinks he is in love with a young girl and Rachael is devastated
she is still in love with him but will not be humiliated.A very romantic read and wonderful descriptions of the period and the way relationships used to be.

This was a beautiful love story with intrigue, twists and turns to keep the reader wanting to read. Characters were believable and writing flowed beautifully. A joy to read and loved the ending.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Read, July 15, 2010
This is the second book I've read from Kathleen Thompson Norris. Her tale of divorce and remarriage, wife and mistress, love lost and refound, was great. There are no villains here, just people making choices, living with the consequences. I found myself sympathizing with Rachel, even with the young actress whom her husband falls for.
