5.0 out of 5 stars Great read
Great overview of some of the seminal events in Frist's career, really shed some light on the personal life of one of America's greatest citizen-legislators

1.0 out of 5 stars Boring
Self serving, boring book. I read first with difficulty. I read second chapter with decreasing hope that it would improved as we moved on. It got worse.

2.0 out of 5 stars Waste of my time, April 23, 2011
This review is from: A Heart to Serve: The Passion to Bring Health, Hope, and Healing (Hardcover)
Although this book is not horrible, it was a very marginal read. Once I got half way through the book, I realized how un interesting and delusional the author was, so I did not finish reading it.

1.0 out of 5 stars Nothing new under this sun, April 23, 2011
This review is from: A Heart to Serve: The Passion to Bring Health, Hope, and Healing (Hardcover)
I had relatively high hopes for this, as I traditionally have agreed with his actions/opinions. Unfortunately, I quickly realized that all I liked about the book was that I traditionally agreed with his opinions....

There is nothing the least bit interesting or novel about it. Its the same old stuff you've heard a million times from other people who were famous enough to get a book deal. In my humble opinion, its not worth your time, even if you are an admirer of his. Its essentially a lot of cliches drawn out over a few hundred pages.

To his credit, I'd still like him to be in the operating room if I needed a heart transplant.

1.0 out of 5 stars Very disappointing, April 23, 2011
This review is from: A Heart to Serve: The Passion to Bring Health, Hope, and Healing (Hardcover)
Bill really shows his true colors in this book. Thought I would get a good perspective from a former Senator, but instead was subjected to his boorish, egotistical stories. Would not recommend to anyone I liked.

1.0 out of 5 stars Terrible!, April 23, 2011
This review is from: A Heart to Serve: The Passion to Bring Health, Hope, and Healing (Hardcover)
Didn't care for the book. Lacked substance IMO. Seemed like it was entirely written by a ghostwriter. Save your money.

1.0 out of 5 stars Worst Book Ever, April 23, 2011
This review is from: A Heart to Serve: The Passion to Bring Health, Hope, and Healing (Hardcover)
Complete waste of time! Don't bother with this one. I can't believe this book even made it to publishing. I wouldn't even check it out at the library.

1.0 out of 5 stars A horrible hypocite pretend to be a champion of the people, April 23, 2011
This review is from: A Heart to Serve: The Passion to Bring Health, Hope, and Healing (Hardcover)
Don't waste your time with this book. It's all lip service. There's no health or healing. There's just the taking of jobs from hard working, intelligent Americans. Don't give this man a penny.

1.0 out of 5 stars From a Republican Point of View, April 23, 2011
This review is from: A Heart to Serve: The Passion to Bring Health, Hope, and Healing (Hardcover)
I must admit, I'm a right-wing lackey so i was eager to grab a cup of coffee, sit back and enjoy a nice interesting book. Unfortunately, this was not it. I was bored to tears within minutes and it never got any better. Don't waste your time or your money.

1.0 out of 5 stars Complete scumbag, April 23, 2011

Why would anyone be willing to support this man in anyway? He is a pure scumbag, who pretends to be driven by a moral compass. His career shows his "moral compass" constantly points in the direction of profiteering, criminal activity, and striping the rights of Americans to support his constituents.

The FEC (Federal Election Commission) found that Senate Majority Leader Bill Frist's 2000 Senate campaign committee, Frist 2000, Inc. violated federal campaign finance laws. "In June 2000, Senator Frist took $1 million of the money that had...... been contributed to his 2000 Senate campaign and invested it in the stock market, where it promptly began losing money. In November 2000, Senator Frist sought to collect $1.2 million he had lent his 1994 Senate campaign committee. As a result of the stock market losses, however, Frist 2000, Inc. did not have enough money to repay the loan. Senator Frist solved this problem by having the 1994 and the 2000 campaign committees jointly take out a $1.44 million bank loan at a cost of $10,000 a month interest. Frist 2000, Inc. did not report this debt on its FEC disclosure forms."[29] In both 2005 and 2006, Senator Frist was named one of the "Most Corrupt Members of Congress" [30] by government watchdog group Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington for ethics inquiries stemming from his troubles with the FEC and an investigation by the SEC for stock sales potentially based on inside information.[31]

I didn't know anyone could be such a bore. I usually love reading books based on sophistry, but not here. I'm falling asleep just thinking about the book while writing this review.
