Robins Gentle Strength Shared in Text,

This review is from: From the Heart: Seven Rules to Live By (Hardcover)
We all know and love Robin Roberts from Good Morning America. She has shared her strength and gentle sensitivity with us all each day. In particular we were drawn closer to her with the unfortunate death of her father and her reporting of Katrina, from her home town. Her writing style is as natural as her on air personality. She engages the reader in a conversation into which you are drawn and she shares her greatest life learnings. In true gracious style she does not require the reader to adopt her life views or perceptions, but writes in a way that allows the reader to make an inquiry into the truth of their own life. Well done Robin. We all love you and wish you continuing success. YOU DO MAKE A DIFFERENCE!

Truly from the Heart,
By Office Girl "Denise" (New Orleans, LA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: From the Heart: Seven Rules to Live By (Hardcover)
This book was wonderful. It was truly heartfelt and inspiring. The author genuinely spoke from her heart and allowed you to see her and her family from the perspective of just being ordinary people. Many of the items she touched upon is truly recognizable in what kids/people are experiencing today -- especially with the fear of the unknown or not knowing what they want to do with their life. She allowed you as the reader to see that those feelings of uncertainty are normal and even the most successful people have fears and setbacks; however, what I liked most about the book was how her life transformed from her upbringing. There were rules, guidelines, constant guidance, and most importantly PRAYER in her upbringing. Her parents were wonderful in that they were not trying to befriend their children. They truly knew there role and did an exceptional job of rearing all of there children. Robin's book highlights the LOVE, RESPECT, and ADMIRATION she has for her family, friends, and community. I must add before I conclude that Sally Ann Roberts, her sister, is truly a blessing to the citizens of New Orleans, LA. She speaks about Sally in her book and I as a viewer of Sally Ann truly understands where her SPIRIT (light) is derived from after reading Robin's book. God Bless and much LOVE to the Robert's Family...

This is a very inspirational book. Robin Roberts does an excellent job of describing how she got to where she is today -- giving her parents much credit for her strong family and spiritual beliefs. She gives encouragement for anyone to work for their dreams because they can be attained -- don't give up at the first rejection. I think this would be an excellent gift for a high school graduate.

Robin Roberts has came up with a Book that truly draws you into her life. the saddness of her losing her Father and Her reporting from Katrina from her Hometown. she was a Great sportcaster on ESPN and then on to ABC. she has always had a Pleasent vibe about her that is so welcoming and Inviting. Spirituality,Upbringing, and she just has a Open conversation and airs her whole being with the same frame of mind that you get on the Tv Screen. very refreshing and a feel Good Read. Robin Roberts is truly One of a Kind and a class Act. a must have and read.

This book is a spark of love and compassion wrapped up in a smile that has won America's heart! Robin wrote this book prior to learning of her breast cancer. It is an awesome book and super easy to read. Hope she writes another about her latest chapter of life!

Roberts Keeps It Real,
This review is from: From the Heart: Seven Rules to Live By (Hardcover)
For years I've been a fan of Robin Roberts. In From the Heart, she openly shares her successes and roadblocks with the world. The conversational tone of the book is much like her easy-going conversations on Good Morning America. The seven steps are straightforward and simple to employ in your life - if you personalize it. The rules are common sense. For example, "position yourself to take the shot", make sure you take the steps to get the great job, nice house, or loving relationship. "Venture outside your comfort zone" - you must step outside the box at times to get to the next level. The stories, examples and open discussion will inspire, encourage and push you to try hard, do better, and make changes. I definitely recommend this book for those wanting to examine their heart and do what God intended you to do.

The book is well-delivered; it is truly from the heart. Robin is my guest/friend each weekday morning and for her to share her inspirations with me has been a privilege. I appreciate the fact that she often gives her parents full credit for the person that she is. Robin is the same age as my youngest daughter, who is also successful in her career and was raised by many of the same values as was Robin. I love them both. I'll never forget Robin sobbing on the day after Hurricane Katrina. Her tears were appropriate and said more about the devastation than any words could have. I have passed the book on to our eldest daughter because she was here when I finished it. Each will get her turn.

Getting to Know Robin Roberts,

I bought this book hoping to get some insight into Robin Roberts' life in broadcasting. This book touches on that subject but doesn't go into the depth I was expecting. What it does do is provide inspiration to all young girls who are trying to find their way in this world, and to those women (and men) that are thinking of changing careers. It sets a good example of how hard work, perserverance and faith in yourself and your abilities can open doors to a bright future and explains the importance that a mentor provides in helping open those doors.
