5.0 out of 5 stars A True Talent!
Jessica's debut CD is by far extraordinary! She's got one heck of a voice for such a young age. However, I did see the reviewer who compared her to other teen singers like LeAnn and Lila...why is this necessary? Can't people appreciate the talents of all these young artists? There is room for all of them to be stars! Why do people always seem to think there can't be...

2.0 out of 5 stars Straight Outta The Factory
I really tried to dig this album. Andrews has a certain amount of talent, but most of all, she's just another pretty face. I've seen at least a dozen girls at our local mall country karaoke contest that can sing roughly as well as she does, which is really not an insult, believe me. There are a lot of dime-a-dozen, decently gifted young ladies out there. The problem is...

Why do people always seem to think there can't be more than one country star who are teenagers? Jessica most definitely is a star -- that's for sure. Her strong and powerful vocal range and emotion are what makes these songs stand out. I think "Unbreakable Heart" is one of the best songs I've ever heard. She does it well as she does all the rest of the songs on this album. Jess - you're truly a beautiful talent with a bright future ahead of you! Keep it up!

5.0 out of 5 stars Why's Britney getting all the publicity?, February 29, 2000
This review is from: Heart Shaped World (Audio CD)
Britney Spears does have a pretty good voice, but it's nothing compared with the wonderful gift this young woman has been blessed with. Her voice can alternate between sounding husky and mature (for ballads) and playful and trilly (for faster-paced songs).

"I Will Be There For You" was one of the few standout tracks on the PRINCE OF EGYPT soundtrack, and she followed that one up with "You Go First" and "Unbreakable Heart." Another track on the album, "Whatever," is delightful pop-country, and perhaps my favorite song on the CD. But no matter how good her songs are, Jessica Andrews is still not getting the attention she deserves!

5.0 out of 5 stars THE BEST VOICE I"VE HEARD IN A LONG TIME!, December 9, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: Heart Shaped World (Audio CD)
Her voice is absolutley amazing! She uses so much emotion, and it really draws you into the c.d. For example, if you listen to "Unbreakable Heart," her voice is flawless! It's filled with so much genuine, captivating emotion, which is quite rare for such a young vocalist. Throughout the c.d., her voice tells a great story! She sings with so much confidence. She's an INCREDIBLE talent and should not be over looked! If your going to buy one c.d. this week, or month, defintaley buy this one! You won't regret it!

5.0 out of 5 stars *~Beautiful Voice w/ enchanting songs*~ A MUST-HAVE~, May 26, 2002

I loved this CD. Jessica is one of the best teen country queens out there. All of her songs are good. I love this cd because I can play it through without pushing the next button. I love all the songs and none of them are bad! It's worth the price!
*****************************************************************

1. James Dean in Tennessee- Very catchy.. It was a big hit. I really like the background music and I love the way this song tells a story all its own.

2. You Go First- A cute song that alot of teenagers could relate to. Its about wanting to kiss but neither is making the move. It uses phrases like "We're right up the edge but we need a little push.Dancin on the tightrope.. wearin it thin instead of closing our eyes and jumpin in.. Do you wanna kiss?" GREAT SONG!

3. The Riverside- One of the top two beautiful ballads on the album. This song alone would be worth buying the cd. This song gives Jessica the chance to let her vocals be the main focus! And man do her vocals shine~ Beautiful song~ Love it!

4. Whatever- I love this song. Its about a guy who lies, promisies and does not keep, promisies forever then she gets fed up and says "Whatever!" Its a great girl power song :-)

5. Unbreakable Heart- This is one of my favorites~ Its the other beautiful ballad on the album! It also has a hint of christian music in it. The lyrics are beautiful and this song has so much meaning! I would listen to this song on repeat all day and never get tired of it. You have to hear this song!

6. Hungry Love- This song is a story all its own. Its about a little girl with no good role models around her when shes young. Her daddy left her mothers out on the town.. then when she turns 17 she has a baby of her own but does the same thing her mother had done. Its good to listen to!

7. Heart Shaped World- This is a good song about living in a world of a love for a person so her world is heart shaped. It has some great lyrics and of course Jessica does the job of expresing them! Shes great and this song shows it!

8. I'll Take Your Heart- This song is about a girl stealing a guys heart. She doesn't wanna be the lonely girl so before he knows it shes gonna steal it~

9. I Do Now- Beautiful song! Its about believing in miracles. Sometimes it just takes a special someone to realize that miracles do occur and this song shows that~ If you have strong feelings for someone I think this song describes all those feelings~

10. I've Been Waiting For You- This song is very catchy. Its about all the things she could do but shes been waiting for this special someone. She couldve gave her love to someone else but shes been waiting! It has a lot of country in this song~

11. Ruby Shoes- I love this song. It has comparisions to "The Wizard of Oz". Such as "But my name aint Dorothy These aint ruby shoes. Cant click my heels anytime I choose." Also " That aint a tornado blowing out the door. Thats the sound of him leaving cos he dont love me anymore. I'll just walk the floor but i sure could use some of those ruby shoes" GREAT!

12. I Will Be There for You- This is from the movie, "Prince of Egypt"~ It has beautiful lyrics . I love this song~ Its beautiful. I dont know what else to say!

*****************************************************************

I hope you decide to buy this album! You're missing out if you dont! Take my word.. this album is one of the best!

5.0 out of 5 stars WOW! What a voice!, February 10, 2000
By A Customer
This review is from: Heart Shaped World (Audio CD)
I am totally amazed by Jessica Andrew's voice! She's so young. I usually don't get into the "teen divas" of country music, but after hearing a couple of the songs off of her album, I knew I had to buy it. I was NOT disappointed. Her voice is absolutely amazing. It's soft, sweet, and clear. My favorite song on the album by far is Unbreakable Heart. I also love James Dean In Tennessee, You Go First, Whatever, and I Will Be There For You. I liked the rest of the songs on the CD, too! Jessica is amazing. I hope she goes far in the country music business. She seems like a very sweet girl who is appreciative of her fans and of the people who got her where she is today. Way to go, Jessica! Buy this album today! You'll love it.

I first heard "Unbreakable Heart" on CMT...I was completely blown away. I try to keep up with country music, as it is my favorite, but I had not heard of this artist. She is so good, it will make you cry. I don't buy a lot of CDs, but I had to have this one....Can't wait to get it and hear all her other songs! Jessica's voice is sweet and so clear. A great talent that will go far!

5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome Debut Album, January 11, 2002
This review is from: Heart Shaped World (Audio CD)
If you were to cross an earnest country powerhouse (like Lucinda Williams) and a carefully marketed pop persona (like Tiffany), Andrews is what you might get. This young, Tennessee-based singer's debut combines two contrary elements--gutsy tunes solidly entrenched in country verities and the sexy personality that drips from Andrews' pouty, radio-friendly vocals. An inside sleeve that contains morephotos of Andrews' cute mug than there are songs on her album casts further suspicion upon the artist's credibility. But a careful listen to HEART-SHAPED WORLD reveals more substance than fluff

Andrews' voice is indeed lovely, textured, stylish, and surprisingly seasoned for an industry newcomer. While she sounds perfectly comfortable on the rockers ("I've Been Waiting For You") and on the album's swaying mid-tempo cuts (such as the title track), Andrews really shines on the ballads. Her sultry deliveryimbues the romantic narrative of the lovely "The Riverside" with considerable and convincingly aching emotion. Taken together, the songs on this record strike a balance between old-school "classic" country and Top-40 pop appeal that may ensure Andrews popular success and establish her as a country star worth watching.

5.0 out of 5 stars A fantastic first, February 1, 2000
By A Customer
This review is from: Heart Shaped World (Audio CD)
I first heard Jessica Andrews on the Prince of Egypt soundtrack, and I haven't been disappointed by the other singles. The rest of the album is fabulous. "Heart Shaped World" was one of the best albums I bought last year. I am eagerly awaiting her next effort.

In response to an earlier question, "Unbreakable Heart" was sung by Carlene Carter back in 1993 or 1994. I can't remember just when it was released. It's from her "Little Love Letters" album.

Jessica Andrews has such a pretty voice, that I'm amazed that she's not an old-soul. She delivers such beautiful songs, and makes you feel like you are right there, listening to her in person.

Her alto, and soprano soar over the music like water, and really transcend the cd, that you feel like she's sitting right next to you singing.

"James Dean in Tennessee," "You Go First," "Unbreakable Heart" and "Ruby Shoes" are amazing. If you buy this cd, you will not regret it.

This cd is a must to buy. If you love the younger stars of country music today, then this is the cd to buy. From "James Dean in Tennessee" to " I Will Be There For You" you will find a song that you will love. Most of the songs reflect about teenage love. Also Jessica will be putting out a new album on January 9, 2001, it's title cut is already released. You will want to buy it also.
