I heard one cut on the radio - 'Long Gone' and ended up buying all three of their cd's. These guys are real solid traditional bluegrass, with emphasis on the TRADITIONAL. And they really capture the essences of traditional bluegrass music. They're great!

I SAW THEM AT MOSSY OAKS MUSIC PARK. IN OCTOBER,2003 THEN I KNEW THEY WAS GOOD OLE TRADIONAL BLUEGRASS. THAT IS WHAT MY EARS LOVE TO HEAR. I PERSONALLY RATE THE GILLIS BROTHERS THE BEST I HAVE EVER HEARD YET I HAVE HEART&SOUL, SUNSHINE IN SHADOWS, ICE COLD STONE AND DOWN BY RIVER CDs IF THEY KEEP RECORDING I WILL BUY EVERY ONE THE GUYS HAVE TO SALE

I bought this not knowing the Gillis Brothers. I played this CD as much as any I have bought recently. Happy to find these 2 are still performing at Bluegrass festivals. I plan to see them live. They write well and redo a couple of the Stanley Brothers songs as good as the Stanley Brothers.
