HEART & SOUL IS BY FAR ONE OF THE BEST EFFORTS THE WINANS HAVE PRODUCED...WHY NOT ONE TRACK HAS EVER MADE IT TO THEIR BEST OF COMPILATIONS BAFFLES ME TO THIS DAY, THIS GEM OF A CD WAS ORIGINALLY RELEASED IN 1995-BUT STILL SOUNDS CURRENT TODAY.THIS IS CONTEMPORARY GOSPEL AT IT'S BEST -I CALL IT RHYTHM AND GOOD NEWS-THIS IS THE MUSIC THAT SHOULD BE PLAYED IN THE HOUSEHOLD, IN FRONT OF THE CHILDREN-AT A PICNIC-WHILE WASHING THE CAR ETC.-IT IS UPLIFTING, INSPIRATIONAL, BOTH THE PRODUCTION AND SINGING IS TOP NOTCH- THE HARMONIC OPENER "PARADISE" TAKES YOU ON THAT FANTASTIC VOYAGE, WE ALL NEED TO GO ON EVERY NOW AND THEN, THE VOCAL PERFORMANCES ARE SENSATIONAL!-"HEART AND SOUL" IS A MELODIC AND UPBEAT TOUR DE FORCE THAT WILL HAVE YOU BOPPING YOUR HEAD AND SNAPPING YOUR FINGERS. "COUNT IT ALL JOY" MAKES YOU DO JUST THAT-THE HEAVY SYNTHSIZED PRODUCTION SHINES ON THIS GEM...."YEAH, YEAH, YEAH" IS AWESOME. THE AMAZING REMAKE OF "THE QUESTION IS" WILL GIVE YOU CHILLS. Beautiful album. Listened to these songs when I was younger. Once I had my own job I ordered this album for myself. The Winans...classic.

Although I have hundreds, this is my all-time favorite CD. It was through this CD that music actually came alive to me. Herein rest so many good messages to the Christian and even non-Christian alike. The harmonies are amazing, the soul, the feel, the masterful tracks; simply described as PERFECT R & B.

I had this CD when it first came out, I had been listening to it over and over again, one of my favorites. Looked for it the other day (last week) and someone took it, damn it!! So i'll just order another. ( i think my brother borrowed it), LOL.

I HAD THE CASSETTE, for ten years it finally gave out in 06', just discovered the CD couldnt remember the title but this is truly all "HEART AND SOUL"!!...i love ALL these songs on here, and you can't buy a CD today liking ALL the songs, maybe two or three. and i paid 0.79 for it. (more to ship) can't wait

My, how time tends to take the edge off. I gave this LP 2 stars because I expected some of the music to have energy and enthusiasm. Boy, was I wrong. This record ventures down the 'quiet storm' corridor without turning left or right, and without going up or down. Fans of smooth jazz will dig this, fans of the early Winans records may not. From 'Paradise' to 'Prone to Wander' the mood rarely peaks above mellow. Their remake of 'The Question Is', for lack of a nicer word, is just plain disappointing. Maybe the Winans were simply and reluctantly trying to fulfill a contractual obligation to their record company. Time definitely has brought about a change...and then its gone away(Finders Keepers).

Heart and Soul gives the music lover a walk down memory lane. The Winans were a gospel group in a league by themselves, and gave the gospel music world a true taste of the comtemporary flavor now present in gospel music. The song "Paradise" put the listener into a place far beyond the troubles of this world. The song "The Question Is", allowed the listener a moment to examine their individual personal goals and commitment to God. Overall, this was an awesome compilation from 4 brothers from Motown. A must purchase for anyone who loves gospel music and the Winans musical style.

I have always like the Winans music but this CD was just ok. I only liked five songs out of the whole CD. "Paradise" is one of my favorites and has a very nice beat. "Count it All Joy" encourages you not to give up because God won't put more on you than you can bear. "Smile on Me', another favorite, has a very nice beat. Universal Love, a very beautiful song and "Standing on the Promises", what can I say, one of the best songs on the album, an amazing beautiful song. I wasn't really feeling all the other songs, they really did not appeal to me. This CD was kind of a disappointment but those five songs made up for it.

In the 1995 release of Heart & Soul, The Winans have possibly surpassed the succuss of their previously release album of Return. This album proves that God works in mysterious ways and one of those mysteries were revealed years ago when he sent his message through song. The Winans delivers that message in the title track Heart & Soul and other songs such as Count it all Joy, Paradise, Universal Love, and more. Listen closely to the lyrics on these tracks. It's quar- anteed you'll understand the word of God even more. These group of messengers have helped two generations of followers and are quaranteed to give to many more.
