I did this book with a woman's bible study, and we all LOVED it. It is so applicable to wherever you are in life, that we each were changed becuase of it. It is great for personal bible study or as a group. Each week takes you through a different person (from the Bible) who had an intimate relationship with Christ. By taking careful note of their relationships, we can learn how to have our own intimacy with Him. This is a perfect book if want to desire God more, and learn how to make Him a part of all you do. There is a lot room to answer questions, as well as a journal and prayer log in the back. The daily study takes about an hour each day for 8 weeks, but it is also easy to break it up into smaller increments if you are concerned about finding the time. I found I often wanted to spend longer studying the Word, because this book really did help ignite my passion for knowing God. God is real, God is good, He loves us, and He wants to spend time with us!!

is a great book. Each week takes you deeper into the life of a character in the Bible, and helps you learn things about that character which are directly applicable to your own life. The book has also helped me deepen and regulate my quiet times, so that I spend meaningful time with the Lord each day. I recommend this book to anyone looking for a way to grow closer to God.

This book was recommended to me by Monvee, a computer Christian program that personalizes how you grow spiritually. It has been great for me. It has helped me to develop a more intimate relationship with God. It is just the tool I needed, along with God's word, to draw me closer to Him. Highly recommended!!

This is our first time to use a Catherine Martin book in our women's adult Bible fellowship study on Sunday mornings. While the book is daunting in its appearance (it looks like so much to do on any given day), it has great readings and quotes from classic sources that makes the work go quickly. Amazon was incredible in its price and delivery. We are very pleased with the service.

Sometimes, when life seems more than usually tough, what we need is to take a quiet break and reevaluate what is important in our lives. Catherine Martin provided just the impetus I needed to change some things that needed changing, and to begin dancing ever closer to God! Thought-provoking, with excellent "assignments" to prompt deeper thinking and additional growth are included. I am so happy that Monvee recommended it, that Amazon.com sells it, and that I benefitted by it! A heartfelt "thanks" to all!

I contacted the seller regarding a problem with my purchase. The item was advertized as new and when I received it, it had been used.
The seller then apologized for the problem and refunded my purchase price. This solution was more than adequate. I will purchase from this seller again.

I have given this book to both of my daughters and the effect it had on them merits more than 5 stars. The author, Catherine Martin writes in a style that truly reaches the heart and uses the most wonderful additional material from writers such as A.W.Tozer, Wesley, Hudson Taylor, David Livingston, Amy Carmichael, and many, many more to drive home the messages that will help you understand God through their eyes. I was skeptical at first that what I would find was a light or weak contemporary devotional wanna be. NOT! I have never seen a devotional book help someone develop a passion for God as this book has in my home. My youngest daughter (14) chose to repeat this book to glean more from it before starting another book by Martin. She told me that she has learned to pray more effectively because of its acrostic. She also made it a practice (for months now) that she would do nothing before she has spent time in her Bible, prayer, and this book each day. I credit this book and Catherine Martin's God-sent and Spirit-filled ministry, "Quiet Time Ministries". Thank you, Catherine Martin! You have made our hearts dance because of all that we have learned about our Precious God and Savior!

This book has changed my own personal quiet time. I love that the focus is on the Bible and not the author's personal stories or opinions like a lot of other devotional books. This book has helped me get a consistent quiet time and learn to love reading the Bible. I look forward to the daily studies.

Purchased this book to read and study as part of a group bible study. It started out a bit slow for me. I was having difficulty relating. As I am moving through the book and discussing with others I am finding inspiration and beginning to develop a closer more intimate relationship with God. I would not recommend this as an independent study. Much as been learned from the discussion within the group.

Catherine Martin has some of the best quiet time material on the market. She uses an acrostic with the word prayer where each step keeps you in step with seeking the LORD with your whole heart. I recommend this book and her new one The Names of God to everyone who seeks to draw closer to the LORD.
