A pioneer of the vaudeville era, an accomplished stage actor and dancer, and appearing in more than forty films, Jack Haley was one of Hollywood's most successful and beloved actors. His role as the Tin Man in "The Wizard of Oz" secured his place in the annals of movie history and in the hearts of movie fans through the ensuing generations. What is not so well known is that Haley spent much of the last years of his life compiling information and writing commentaries on the life of an entertainer in the early days of vaudeville before the emergence of radio and television.
