We decided to publish this book because we felt it was a good example of premodern primers on Chinese medicine which were meant to be memorized and not just read. One of the difficult things about Chinese medicine is the sheer volume of information that has to be memorized and kept in mind throughout one's clinical practice. This book also helps understand how to modify a core repertoire of the most famous herbal formulas in Chinese medicine.
