Fantastic 40k radio drama, November 3, 2009
This review is from: Heart of Rage (Warhammer 40000) (Audio CD)
When I first grabbed this out of the battle bunker, it was with a level of trepidation that I would not normally associate with BL products. But if theres one thing the British know how to do, and how to do correctly, its audiobooks. And radio play is the term better ascribed to this novella about the Blood Angels storming a crippled Tyranid hive ship.
Including sound effects, complimentary background music, and voice modifications, the speakers deep, melodious voice manages to convey every character, however shortlived, as an individual, rather than mash them all together in one indsitinguishable ball. Conversations flow well, and emotions and sub-text are clipped and delivered perfectly.
Despite coming in at barely over an hour in length, this radio play maanges to deliver a gripping, entertaining storyline, presented so that even those without 40K experience can understand them, and with a voice actor that better be being kept on retainer.

Not a bad audio book. The sound effects are a little weak and repetitive but over all it was entertaining.
