Book Description

Eight years ago, Fianna Morgan defied royal forest law and her father by entering Dinsmore Wood - and then ran for her life after witnessing a crime. Since that day, she has kept a hopeful eye out for the young man who saved her life, swore her to secrecy, and disappeared into the forest.
Now nineteen, Fianna is burned out of her tenant home and forced to serve Lord Graham at Dinsmore Hall - where she recognizes his son, Gareth, as her rescuer from Dinsmore Wood.
Yet Gareth claims he has never met Fianna. Confusing her even more, he seems concerned for her safety, but acts rude and distant; nothing like her caring rescuer of eight years ago.
Determined to make Gareth acknowledge their past connection, Fianna corners him - and gets far more than she bargained for.

About the Author

Child of an avid reader and newspaper columnist, Linda devoured mysteries and literary classics along with apples and Tootsie Roll pops. As a teen she wrote two longhand manuscripts read by her enthusiastic sister and cousins and later submitted to the local landfill. Eventually, authors Charlotte and Emily Bronte, Anya Seton, and Sergeanne Golon inspired Linda to write historical romance/suspense, and twice in recent years she was awarded first-place for historical romance in national competitions sponsored by Romance Writers of America. Her first novel, The Heart Denied, was published by Hydra Publications in 2010; her second, Heart of the Hunter, also from Hydra, in January 2012. A landscape quilt artist as well, Linda lives in Kentucky with her husband, son, and three (indoor) cats in an official bird sanctuary.

5.0 out of 5 stars LOVED this book February 11, 2012

*Possible Spoiler Alert* I found this book and chose because it was a full length freebie. How surprised was I! I thought this book was a great read-I actually had to stop and go cook dinner and couldn't quit thinking about getting back to the book. I did start and finish in 1 day-I couldn't put this book down. I thought the 2 main characters were well put together. And the anticipation of what is to come - WOW! The only negative I have to say, is we don't get to be a part of the "consumation" of the relationship-that was kind of a let-down after so much waiting, but I would highly recommend this book.

1.0 out of 5 stars Romance gone seriously wrong February 11, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition
In lieu of a full review, here is a quote: The very thought of Gareth sheathing his fleshy sword inside her, as she had seen rams do with bleating ewes, made her groan, half in dread and half in anticipation.

If this is your cup of tea.... enjoy.

5.0 out of 5 stars Wonderful Book February 10, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
Wow, this book surprised me. Usually when the book is free my expectations are pretty low. This book, however, was a pleasant surprise. I couldn't seem to put it down! Page by page, it just got better and better. The author, however, does drag some of the story line out a bit but nothing that would bore you - just a bit too much detail in sections. Awesome romance novel! I hope to read more from this author!

To be totally honest. If I had read the jacket of the book before hand, and not gone by the recommendation of another, this book would never have made it onto my shelf. Read more

3.0 out of 5 stars Surprising!
I enjoyed this book. It was nothing like I thought is was going to be. Very sultry and Fianna acted very much like the wanton teenager from the 21st century. Read more
