Biography

Blues harmonica legend Carey Bell was one of the very few players today who didn't learn his craft by listening to old records, but by studying directly under the masters. "Little Walter, he showed me a lot of things," said Bell, "but Big Walter, he was crazy. He did all kinds of shit other harp players couldn't do." And like his teachers Big Walter Horton, Little Walter Jacobs and Sonny Boy… Read more in Amazon's Carey Bell Store

5.0 out of 5 stars ANOTHER GREAT ALBUM BY CAREY, April 29, 2005
By
This review is from: Heartaches and Pain (Audio CD)
I liked this one the first time I heard it, older stuff but, it has that great Carey Bell sound. This features Lurrie Bell on guitar (Carey's son) he was just in his teens at the time. After you listen to this you can see why he is also a sought after session guitar player. This was recorded in the seventies, but the sound quality is there. Carey's singing & harp playing are excellent, so is the material, this is a good choice.
