This was released because of the 50th aniversary of the release of this single. It has an outtake as an extra. The cover of the EP was used since singles didn't have picture covers for Elvis until Hound Dog/Don't Be Cruel.

This is for collector's since most people would buy these songs on a Greatest Hits compilation.

What can you say about this single that hasnt been said before one of the most essential singles in rock history and the single that inspired so many singers.It should be part of everyones cd collection.

What can you say about a classic that started a revolution in popular music? This single went to number 1 on the US singles chart and stayed their for 7 weeks. The flip side also charted, peaking at 23 on the Billboard Top 100. The single would eventually be certified MULTI-PLATINUM by the RIAA. This CD single includes both the original 45 single A and B sides plus an alternate take of Heartbreak Hotel as a bonus. This is a piece of history and a must for any student of rock.

Incidentally, this single was re-released in 2006 and hit number 1 again on the Billboard Singles Sales chart 50 years after it did it the first time! Talk about staying power!

Always loved the song and the "flip" I Was the One more. The only trouble I have is that it will not play in my jukebox style CD players, though it will play in the flat loader. While this is a problem infrequently with self made discs it is rare with stock items. Thus the subtraction of a star.
I first turned on top 40 radio to Hound Dog/Don't Be Cruel so Heartbreak Hotel was an "oldie" for me. Even so, it is so strongly related to the Sun material that it soars into the upper echelon of Presley material. The longer he recorded the further he got away from that. Thank you "Colonel" Tom.

Released on it's 50th aniversary, and reminding us all of how good it actually was. This song stopped everyone it's in tracks and rubberstamped Elvis as a serious contender to the throne. Most fans will have this already on other collections, but the packaging is very good and reminds us what the original packaging looked like 'way back when..'. This is history 're-wrapped'. I love having it, and if you're a fan, you will too. Not really for non-Elvis fans or casual music lovers as they will get all they need from the numerous hits compilations.

Great song, Great singer. All fans of Rock and Roll Music should pick up a copy of this great Elvis Presley reissue for their collection.
