This sophmore album from the Dark Romantics is brilliant, possibly one of my most anticipated albums in recent years. It's truly a bright spot for all Indie/Alternative albums in 2008. Again, Heatbreaker delivers, it's even more than what I expected actually-shockingly so. I can't get over it actually. The Dark Romantics really have developed their sound, that tightness few bands develop here on Heartbreaker. That voice, it's haunting, mysterious, and it begs you to listen more. They still come at you with that dance-rock theme, but this album really focuses on his voice-which is the strength of the Dark Romantics. They get a bit more alternative however-sort of Remy Zero meets Radiohead, meets U2, meets Interpol. I get the feeling this album will put them in the mainstream, I just know it, and with a performance like this masterpiece, it's rightly deserved. FIVE STARS!
