A funny look at heartbreaking.
In her third novel, Kim Corum turns the genre of single-woman-looking-for-love on its ear. Because the heroine of Heartbreaker isn't looking for love, she's looking to get even.

A delightful, wacky read!,
By Maria Osborne Perry, author (Tennessee) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Heartbreaker (Paperback)
Heartbreaker is a tapestry of pointed and often wacky anecdotes peppered with a little sex and spiced liberally with the personal introspections of main character, Tina, who is a professional "Heartbreaker". An appreciable fantasy feast of revenge for women who have encountered the worst in the worst types of contemporary men and survived. A delightful read for any afternoon!

You go, Girls.,
By A Customer
This review is from: Heartbreaker (Paperback)
If there was ever a novel for feminine empowerment, this may very well be it. The female lead is unflinching in her quest to help the heartbroken and her cohorts (who happen to be strippers --how's that for feminity?) never waver from their slight distaste of men and all that is wrong with them. The humour is very understated and I found myself spitting up coffee several times after I'd read a particuliar line. Now what I really liked about this book, as it is a chick book, is the that the author kept me guessing whether or not the lead character was going to do her love interest in. Not literally, of course. It's a great concept and a great read.

I have just started to read romantic comedy for a lite change of pace. I like this one, the principle character is not so wimpy and soft joke but more real and solid, a stand alone person. It is base on revenge but very lite and not to bitchy. Easy to read, won't take much of your time or keep you up at night. Great beach book or excellent for busy moms.
