Book Description

9 and upHeartland
When Amy returns to a long-cherished place and reconnects with an old friend, she discovers that her grace and ease with horses does not always carry over into her relationships with people.

After Amy hears of the death of her mentor, she is surprised when his granddaughter, Carey, mysteriously invites her to visit. Amy is eager to return to the serene stables, and Ty agrees to go with her. Once they arrive, Amy seeks out Carey and assumes she wants help with her mustang, Maverick. Yet Carey is nowhere to be found, and she seems to be avoiding both her pony and Amy. So Amy immerses herself in barn work. But it isn't the horses who need her help. When she finally takes time to understand her friend's issues, she is forced to see her own future in a whole new way.

3.0 out of 5 stars Interesting, March 9, 2005
This review is from: Heartland #18: New Beginnings (Paperback)
This book really makes you want to continue to read. It is also the right length. And LAuren Brooke ends the book well. However, this book is more focused on people then horses. And I prefer the ones about horses. But hey. In this book, Amy's Mother's friend, Huten, dies. Amy travels to Ten Beeches Ranch, his stable, with her boyfriend, Ty, to see how the family is coping. The family appears chipper, and this leaves Amy confused, because she was devastated when her mother died, but then she finds what is beneath the surface. Meanwhile, Amy's old friend, Carey, is thinking about leaving the ranch again. But leaving the ranch means leaving Maverick, a half mustang in desperate need of curing. If Carey leaves, the family will have to sell Maverick, for they have no need, or money, for horses who don't earn their keep. Carey is torn between what's right for maverick, her family, and her future.

This book has not yet been released. it comes out in March 2005. All of the books in this series are great so I'm sure this one will be good to. Lauren Brooke is just such an amazing author. She has an extroadinary gift. She has the ability t make you feel as though you in the story. My life is not complete without heartland! I don't know what I'd do if she stopped writing now.

P.S. #19 "From this Day On" is also coming out in March.

A Kid's Review
This review is from: Heartland #18: New Beginnings (Paperback)
This book wuz my absolute fav. I am soooo glad Amy took Ty 2 Ocanumba. He really changed Maverick. I also luved Every New Day, a Heartland book about when Amy goes 2 Ocanumba by herself. Ocanumba really changed from #9 2 #18. Huten's words really r true. (If u don't know wat i mean, read Every New Day!) I definetly recommend this book. Wat r u waitin for? Run out and buy it!
