5.0 out of 5 stars She has done it again!!!, August 24, 2004

WOW!!! Lauren Brooke knows how to make a reader feel Amy's feelings of failiar. First of all the book revolves around everyone at Heartland trying to save the seven horses that Ty's father brings that are severly neglected. And when the company who ownes the horses come to take the horses that survived, away, Amy and co. have to come up with a miracle to save them. All in all a new twist in the series and a great book to add to the collection. Also good times with old heartland friends in the book as well!

5.0 out of 5 stars A Season of Hope, October 2, 2004

This review is from: Heartland #17 A Season Of Hope (Mass Market Paperback)
Amy knows Ty's father disapproves of Ty working with horses. That's why Amy is shocked when Ty's father shows up at Heartland with a trailer full of abused, heat-exuasted horses. She immediatley accuses him of animal abus but later learns that Brad, Ty's dad, didnt realize what he was transporting until he made a quick rest stop. When Brad saw what was inside the trailer, he stopped at Heartland to give the horses water and care. When he arrives, two horses are dead and another was put down. The rest are kept at Heartland to recover. The auction house makes things even worse by claiming that they sent people to retrive the surviving horses and sell them. Heartland must figure out a way to keep the abused animals from suffering anymore. Will they be able to save the animals from the long, fateful ride to the auction house? Read to find out

Overall this book was amazing. I am glad that the Author chose to write on such a touchy subject. Real people go through this everyday, and us horse crazy people are thankful for places that save these amazing creatures from an excruciating death at the auction. This book is worth every penny. :)

5.0 out of 5 stars Heartland, March 29, 2006
A Kid's Review
This review is from: Heartland #17 A Season Of Hope (Mass Market Paperback)
This book tells a lot about society. It is about horses that either have problems or are being abused. What does that say about people in general? It tells us some people can be cruel. Society does not help horses that have been hurt or abandoned. People should not be allowed to have pets if they dont take care of them. That is where society comes in. People should prove that they are mature or responsible to take care of a pet before they purchase it. People should be able to have pets, as long as they take care of them properly and treat them kindly.
The characters in this story are very similar to the people I know. The main character and I both like animals, expecialy horses. Amy is the main character. She helps abused horses with their problems and fears. She and I both believe that no animal should be tormented. Other characters like Ty and Nacy are like my mom and dad. Ty is like my dad becuase Ty helps around the stables and my dad is like that too. Nancy is like my mom she is kind and supports peoples ideas. My mom is very nice and she will support almost everyone's opinion. So all the characters do resemble friends and family even though they are different people.
There are a couple different themes in this book. One is that you should always treat your pets with respect, no matter how mean they are. Two, is to always support your friends. If they have an idea you should be bringing them up, not pushing them down. Last, but not least is to always help others. This is a very important one because people who need your help may need a friend as well. If you are able to help them out, you should also be able to be their friend and help them later on if they need it. So always help and be a friend to everyone!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Healing Horses, Healing Hearts!, March 14, 2006
A Kid's Review
This review is from: Heartland #17 A Season Of Hope (Mass Market Paperback)
I really enjoyed reading A Season of Hope. I could not put the book down. Lauren Brooke is the very best author for horse books. If you like horses YOU MUST READ THEESE BOOKS or you will miss out on something so wonderful that there is no word to describe it. I really wish that there were more than twenty books in the series. A Season of Hope is about a girl named Amy and how she is faced with the horrors of animal cruelty to horses, although she could be dealing with the law Amy tries everything she can to help the horses. Amy is greatly helped by her sister Lou, her boyfriend Ty who is also a stable hand, Amy and Lou's grandpa, Lou's fiancé also the vet Scott, Joni a stable hand, and somehow Ty's father who hated horses but changed his mind after he spent time with them and then he finally understood that Ty belonged to work at Heartland. The phrase healing horses healing hearts means that in every book horses are healed and a person or people learn valuable life lessons. I love the Heartland books so much that for every book in the series I would give them all five stars, even more than that if I could. The Heartland books make me feel that I am inside the book watching it all. It seems as if I am watching television but different. My favorite part in the book would definitely be the ending but... you won't find out the ending unless you read it!

This book is one of the best heartland books and i should know. I've read them all. As a surprising twist that takes place the whole book(if you didnt read the back)Ty's dad brings a truckload of horses that were to be sold in an auction house. All the horses were in very bad condition. Three of which died. You'll have to read the book to find out the rest. And you should. This is a really great book!

I agree with one of the reports I read about this book. When is Amy going to tell Ty about her kiss with Daniel? I also agree that she must be feeling pretty guilty. I really need to know if Ty's understanding goes deep enough to beleive Amy.

A Kid's Review
This review is from: Heartland #17 A Season Of Hope (Mass Market Paperback)
I thouht this book was one of the best heartland books written. My best friend gave it to me for my birthday. It was one of the best gifts I've ever recieved. Amy really has a lot of courage. In this book ty's dad shows up with a trailer of sick horses. Ty's dad puts up a fight but heartland doesn't have enough money and the horses are still being sent to the slaughter house. This book shows how much people will sacrifice for others that they love.Me and all my friends think the heartland books are awsome. If you like horses at all you will lLOVE this book

5.0 out of 5 stars very good, November 14, 2004
A Kid's Review
This review is from: Heartland #17 A Season Of Hope (Mass Market Paperback)
I loved this book it is really sad but really good . The reason it is sad is because Ty's dad drops off a truckload of 7 horses that are dehidrated and malnurished and 3 of them die so Amy starts to take care of the remaining 5 horses and names one Spinddleberry. Ty's dad 'Brad' protests to the auction house that it was illeagle to transport horses in that condition and that they should be able to keep the horses .Will Amy get to keep the horses ? You'll have to read the book to find out!!

PS: I wish there would be more romance beetween Ty & Amy and when are they going to go out on a date and when is Amy going to tell Ty about her kiss with Daniel? (She has to be feeling pretty guilty)

A Kid's Review
This review is from: Heartland #17 A Season Of Hope (Mass Market Paperback)
I own all the books except 2,12, and the superspecial. And ive read all but the super special. This one and 2 are my favorites. When Brad brings 7 horses to heartland he wants to put food and water in for them then continue his trip. Ty and Amy insist they get them out. When they do 2 are dead and one gets put down because of heatstroke. The rest are taken care of and live. Amy calls one Spindlberry. She gets attached to him. And when the auction house calls to schedule a date to pick the remaining horses up, Amy tries to teach Spindlberry how to stand tied and pick up his feet. He is a yearling that nobody ever trained. Whe n the auction house comes Amy doesnt want to take them in the double-decker. To find out get the book!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

In this book, Ty's dad comes to Heartland in an illegal trailer with horses that have been abused. It is really sad because some horses die, but it also has many happy parts!!!! To me, this is the best Lauren Brooke has written yet!!!!!! If you can't get enough of Heartland you'll definetly love this book!!!!
