Many props to author Sara Shepard for another suspenseful, delicious thriller for the PLL series. I've loved reading every entry and this one was even juicier than the last! The further we delve into the series, the more complex and twisted the plot gets. Just when you think you have everything figured out - BAM, we get hit with even more secrets and twists. It's so addictive!

I heard that the next book is the last, which is coming out this June. I'll be sad to see the end of a great series, but relieved to finally get all the loose ends tied up.

I'm older than the target reader (in my twenties), but not ashamed to enjoy these guilty pleasure books. They are smart, funny and thrilling with a great mix of mystery, romance, drama and gossip.

Can't wait for June!

It's the middle of January, but heat from a fire in the woods behind Spencer Hastings's house is so intense that it feels like the middle of July. After Spencer, Emily, Aria and Hanna are rescued from the violent blaze, they struggle to make sense of what they saw before the fire erupted. Was it someone with a cruel sense of humor? Was it Alison's ghost, a doppelganger or a mass hallucination brought on by smoke inhalation?

When word leaks out that the girls believe they saw Ali, family members are skeptical and schoolmates openly make fun of them. Even worse, after the media dubs them "Pretty Little Liars," their credibility, sanity and even their lives are at stake. Each handles the dreadful experience differently. Then, shortly after the fire, they all begin receiving cryptic notes. The "new A" instant messages them with clues, hints and instructions before sending them off in different directions.

Emily, who would do anything to find Ali, assumes a new identity and travels to a remote location away from home. Shut off from the modern world, she discovers clues to the identity of Ali's killer. During her journey, she finds something much greater than the truth about what happened to her friend.

Tired of being laughed at, Aria embraces the supernatural to make sense of what she saw in the woods. She is joined by an unlikely friend who harbors a painful secret and comes to aid her in her quest for what lies beyond. Will dabbling in the occult subject her to even more ridicule and danger?

While trying to find out who murdered Ali, Spencer uncovers the truth about the circumstances of her birth. She also discovers deep, dark secrets, lies and betrayals that might destroy her family. Could the truth about Ali hit close to home?

After suffering a major meltdown, Hanna is sent away by her father to an exclusive "facility" to rest and recover from her trauma. Her recovery takes a nasty turn when she is betrayed and subjected to even more cruelty and scorn. She wants to escape, but will she trade one prison for another?

Sara Shepard's seventh novel in the Pretty Little Liars series is an engaging and entertaining story of murder, secrets, betrayal --- and some not-so-pretty little lies. In HEARTLESS, Shepard deftly displays her familiarity with modern culture, social media and haute couture. While telling the story of the Pretty Little Liars, she doesn't shy away from such controversial issues as mental illness, eating disorders, underage drinking, teenage sex and dysfunctional families. But at the core of this series is a haunting mystery that --- like a favorite pair of jeans --- is not easy to let go of and is the reason why these books are so popular.

Although this book wasn't as action-packed as the 4th, 5th, or 6th books, I still loved how this book changed my theories about who killed Ali, who A is, and all the other mysteries of this series in every single chapter. I love all the books and am a huge fan! I can't wait to read more! These books keeps me on the edge of my chair and I can never put them down!

Pretty Little Liars #7: HeartlessI am in love with this series! It is highly addictive and a great storyline. I read all the books in a matter of 2 weeks. Although I love it, I do have a few complaints. For the series in general, it seems to drag out. The series is about 8 books long, and this is only the 7th. Each book leaves you guessing who A is and who killed Ali, only to leave you suspecting someone new each time. The good thing is that I never guessed who Ali's killer was. Now, my biggest complaint was that there were so many typos in this book. I read the Kindle edition, and I'm not sure if it was only this one or the printed book too, but it bugged me so much that I almost couldn't finish it. Better proofing would be very nice!

Another wonderfully brilliant PLL book by Sara Shepard! I've been reading this series for years, and I have NEVER been disappointed.

The plot is amazing - I can't understand how she does it! What with Ali's murder and all. The characters are different, fun, and their personalities...just BRILLIANT! Sara Shepard's writing style has always caught my eye, being the way everything is described, from what kind of show is blasting on TV to how the air smells.

Heartless was intense, suspenseful... It had me just flying through the pages. I read it in an afternoon, finally figuring out who Ali's murderer was.

I personally can't wait until the next one comes out! I recommend this series for anyone who loves a good mystery!

These books just keep on getting better and better. I don't know what it is, but they do. Okay, so OMG WAS THAT ALISON!? I'm sure is what everyone was asking after that last book! I have no idea who it is or where she went, buuuut.

Anyway. In Heartless, we meet a bunch of new characters. Some of them seem like they'll be around for a while, but some others are just temporary characters. Some of them are obviously suspicious, but some others have an aura of mystery about them. I love Sara's character building in her books. She makes you feel what she wants you to feel about each certain character. Oddly enough, that kind of makes me second guess myself. If I'm supposed to feel suspicious about this character, is it real or is it just Sara leading me on? {yes, I do watch too much Masterpiece Mystery} I do have my suspicions about Iris, and I've never had a good feeling about Wilden!

One thing about these books that kind of drives me crazy is how much trouble the girls get themselves into. Like, seriously? They could keep under the radar so much easier if they just kept their sneaking little perfect noses out of everybody's business! Geez, girls!

Also, I've been watching the TV show with my mum {oddly, she loves it!} so it's kind of hard for me to discern what is the TV show and what is the books...I have to think long and hard...did I really see that or was it just the movie playing in my head? Ugh, it makes the series so much more confusing and mysterious! :P

I just have to say that I don't believe the person who they think killed Ali and is A is the right person. Like, what motivation would they have? People don't just kill people and torture her teenage friends with no motive! Unless, of course, they're REALLY insane!

Overall, I really enjoyed Heartless, and I'm excited to see where the series goes {even though it does get a bit tiring after a while} call me crazy, but I think the books are a lot more interesting when someone dies! It's also quite fun watching the TV show and seeing the differences in it. {for example, Toby dies in the series, but not in the TV show and Maya is murdered in the TV show, and they don't even talk about her in the books! And Garrett isn't in the books at all!}

As every other book in the series, this one was quite entertaining, you never really expect things to happen how they happen. Then again, I feel like they get more unrealistic as the series continues. It's just that those ridiculous things happen and no one believes the four girls anymore and actually their lives are ruined anyway and...yeah, it does get a bit repetitive. But then again it's such a quick read that I don't even mind. It's great to get your mind off things or for a break between two huge epic reads :)

i have read ALL the 'pretty little liars' books amd this was by far the one that kept me on the edge, and i never wanted to put it down! however, a lot of questions were left unanswered, so i am guessing she will be writing am eighth. however, i do feel that their stories have to end sometime, amd can't carry on forever. a final book with all of the secrets revealed would probably be an amazing and shocking end to a great series.

This book had the most twists and turns out of all of them so far. I feel so bad for Spencer, Aria, Emily, Hanna,........and Jenna. They reveal who is supposedly the killer at the end, but I don't really believe it is that person. The ending has left me with a million questions such as Where Is the real Ian? and Why Jenna Cavanagh? and Two of them? Can't wait for the next book!
