Magical, refreshing view of love in the dark ages,
By A Customer
This review is from: Hearts and Armour [VHS] (VHS Tape)
This movie sets on fire the critics. A lot of them say this movie doesn't worth even the rental. Others think it presents a refreshing look of an overexploited theme: love in the dark ages.Bradamante (Barbara de Rossi) is a shy christian girl who gets to know her fiery side by means of an enchanted armour. Angelica (Tanya Roberts) is - very atractive - moor princess, who gets lost, almost raped several times, but always manages to escape. Orlando (Rick Edwards) and Ruggero (Ronn Moss) are enemies, leaders of opposite armies, and they fall in love of girls of the opposite side. It has great choreographed duels, and strange but fairy-taled customes. The musical score is very poor (electronic, much in use those days), and in some times the action turns to be kind of funny, but is a great movie to see and share.

A great movie from the eighties.,

This review is from: Hearts and Armour [VHS] (VHS Tape)
The first time I saw this was in 84' on ktla movies till dawn. it was magical. A movie that neither has good or bad guys. There are some of the most beautiful scenes like when bradamante rode past rogero about half way thru the film. The story line was simply great. The final scene still lingers in my mind. One day it will be released on DVD. It is too good of a movie not to be. considering the quality of movies that are being released today, I would hope that the day will come soon.

Right out of Charlmagnes Tales of Chivalry,

This review is from: Hearts and Armour [VHS] (VHS Tape)
I have loved this movie since I first saw it in the 80s. It may not be the best acted but it has great heart and spectacular visuals. Orlando, Ruggero, Bradamante, Rinaldo and the others take their inspiration from the legends of Charlmagne and his knights and create a fairy tale of a movie to enjoy. I can't wait for it to come out on DVD as my VHS copy is starting to wear out. A movie to see if you enjoyed Legend, Ladyhawke, Labyrinth and the Princess Bride
