I highly recommend this book and I look forward to reading the rest of Ms. Evan's Woodland Series and her future books.
Mustard Seed
Ms. Evans did an equally good job developing Monica's character, you really feel her hope, her sorrow and her emotional turmoil as their relationship develops.
Dan
Jeremy persists, heart full of love and faith, and brings down Monica's resistance with the help of the wondrous pastor Ken Lucerne.

Of author Marianne Evans' many gifts, one is giving such life-like qualities to the characters that you feel they're your friends. You ache for them when they hurt; you glow with them when their lives have light.

Hearts Communion, set in the beautiful Michigan lakeside community of St. Clair Shores at the holidays approach, is the wonderful third installment to Ms. Evan's "Hearts Crossing" series, and as I expected, she didn't disappoint. Heroine Monica Kittelski has found her life's calling as a preschool director with a sideline of teaching ballet to young girls at the local community center. Like most young women, she longs for love and a family of her own. Monica stole my heart right away, for she holds deep inside the agony of an irreparable physical ailment (no spoilers here). Her shaky faith is completely understandable. Likeable and appealing, Monica shows us her sorrow, her crushing disappointment, even the occasional bitterness without whining or alienating the reader. Her hurt is real and comes to life on the page. In fact, her humanness touches you to the core: upon her first meeting with hero Jeremy's family, she can't bear the family's joy over some exciting news and behaves in a somewhat hurtful manner towards her hosts. You can truly identify with her actions. Although the situation causes a bit of a clash with Jeremy's mother, the resolution of which is one of the book's sweetest moments.

As for hero Jeremy Edwards, or JB, his manliness and success are obvious from the start: successful construction company; charity work; loving brother, son and nephew. He posses the physical attributes we associate with the romance hero and the strength of faith we expect in an inspirational story.

This is the first book I have read by this author, Marianne Evans. And I know I will be reading more. This is the kind of book, once I started I could not put it down until I had read the whole book. Marianne has a beautiful way of writing that kept my attention from page to page. It is a very good book that I would recommend to anyone. The story is easy to follow. It is a love story and it moves slowly, which I really like in a book. I really enjoyed it, as I have adopted kids and that became a big part of the story. As the main lady in the story could not become pregnant. Children were a very big part of the life of the family she was going to marry into. It was very interesting the things they had to work through. It is really a great book and you would be very happy that you chose to buy it and read it.Hearts Communion (Woodland)

Well I am quite frankly, flabbergasted and have no idea what to say. This story touched me on so many levels - its truths are a balm to a barren soul and promise to an aching heart.

Through it all is one recurring thread.... It's all about perception.

Life throws us curves of pain and heartache, loss and disappointment - but the good news is, with God - through an open heart, a willing spirit, and with renewed perception - we can overcome and in overcoming, find His plan and the fulfillment of His promise is far greater than we can ever dare to think, dream or imagine!

I am SO looking forward to the 4th book in this series!

The one thing Jeremy Edwards dreams of is getting married and having a family of his own. He has strong ties to his own close-knit family.

Monica Kittelski runs a daycare and pours her heart out every day into the lives of other people's children. She wonders if one day she will have children of her own to love and care for.

Jeremy and Monica meet and their attraction is intense, but once Jeremy learns of Monica's infertility, can they overcome that unthinkable hurdle and find love despite their situation?

My review:

Hearts Communion is the third book in the Woodland Series by Marianne Evans. I did not read the first two books in this series, but after reading Book three, I have added Book one and Book two to my TBR list. This first thing about Ms. Evans' writing that caught my attention is the depth to her story telling ability. Once I started reading, I did not want to put the book down. The characters were captivating and I related so well to Monica's story. Ms. Evan's depiction of this struggle with infertility and the raw emotions involved were so true to life. She did not miss the mark on this one.

The second thing that kept me reading was the fiery chemistry between Jeremy and Monica. Their romance sizzled, but seemed grounded in reality as well. It tested the boundaries of true love and the possibilities of following the leading of your heart regardless of heart-wrenching circumstances. I love inspirational stories that show characters' struggles with real life issues and how they connect with God and learn to trust in His plan for their lives. Ms. Evan's depiction of that faith journey did not disappoint.

Hearts Communion is a novel of outstanding fiction. I highly recommend this book and I look forward to reading the rest of Ms. Evan's Woodland Series and her future books.

My Rating (Hearts Communion): 5 Stars--Outstanding Fiction
