5.0 out of 5 stars Just Buy It!, March 13, 2010

For six dollars you are getting the collective genius of some of the best young bands going. This EP goes by quickly; however, it well worth the price containing some of the best songs released this year. The standout track is surely "Hills Like White Elephants" with its combined elements of experimental and post-hardcore creating a blend that is unique enough to set the tone for the rest of the album. That's not to say everything else is below par. Other songs begin to experiment even more, blending genres to a greater extent and really putting the star-power contained within to use.

If you are a fan of experimental music, post-hardcore, or any music for that matter: give this album a try. It is short, sweet, and well worth the price-tag.

5.0 out of 5 stars Vocal Fun Fest, March 14, 2010
Isles and Glaciers came together in Seattle in December of 2008, put their individual egos aside (which for some was considerable), and created a sound unlike any they had individually ever done before. The cohesion of the group, the sound and tone, is remarkable given their short stay recording with Casey Bates. Fans and newcomers will delight in the vocal gymnastics of Jonny, Vic and Craig - it's a competition to excel and the listener is the winner. This is a blend of musical expression that will unfortunately not be re-created again soon since all the members have gone on with their respective primary projects - but for slightly less than 27 minutes on seven tracks they realized heights that mainstream-label groups try for years to attain. Special kudos go out to Nick Martin and B (Brian) South (Southall) who took threads of ideas and tied them together in a cohesive and powerful way - showcasing each vocal member in a blend of texture and substance. It becomes a distinctive sound with personality and life - here's hoping that Seattle can capture and harness these remarkable artists again in the near future.

With all the vocals, the sound, the music - we can only dream of "Pervigilium in Seattle".

5.0 out of 5 stars Amazing!, November 9, 2011

This review is from: The Hearts of Lonely People (Hot Topic Exclusive) (Audio CD)
This is an amazing CD by an amazing band! Isles and Glaciers is a super group composed of the vocalists from Chiodos/Cinematic Sunrise (Craig Owens), Dance Gavin Dance/Emarosa (Johhny Craig), and Pierce the Veil (Vic Fuentes). It's a wonderful trifecta of soulful and meaninful vocals. Not much screaming, but it's crazy amazing. Only 5 songs really (2 are instrumentals), but it's worth it. Shipping was fast: sent overseas, got in three days.
