4.0 out of 5 stars good, not great, March 28, 2008
This review is from: A Heart's Treasure (Zebra Regency Romance) (Mass Market Paperback)
This book not only centers around, but IS COMPLETELY, about a 'treasure hunt' created by and participated in by 3 sets of brothers and sisters to attempt to get to one of the pair's homes for a short summer vacation.

our hero Xavier has a disfiguring facial scar that caused him to loose sight in one eye and forces him to wear an eyepatch. i like how the author delves into his mental state frequently about it, as it's really given him some psychological issues and creates mental barriers between him and women. He very, very quickly falls in love with a woman, Genevieve, from the party, and I wish that more had been done to explain this sudden affection other than a nice smile she gave him. It can also be a bit irritating how often he pays attention to Summer, a girl also in the party, who's engaged to Genevieve's brother. I found Summer to be an annoying character. The author is clearly very knowledgable about British history and that's really what this treasure hunt is about- answering riddles about history. it can get a little tiring how much detail is put into each step of this hunt- i wish a little more time was spent between our hero and heroine, who i liked very much. if you are willing to sit through every single small (non romantic) detail of the hunt, this book is a nice enough read.
