Book Description

One of beloved author Debbie Macomber’s classic novels, a heartwarming story of hope and possibility, is available for the first time in decades—and exclusively as an eBook.

Skye Garvin treasures her work as a volunteer in the pediatric ward of the local hospital. Bringing even a small amount of joy to a suffering child—whether through her playful attitude or her gift for music—is a blessing that Skye cherishes. But due to overcrowding, her favorite young patient’s new roommate is an adult—a man who catches Skye completely off guard. Despite his gruff exterior, Skye is compelled to help the unnerving man. But the old scars of personal tragedy—and a fundamental difference of faith—might undermine Skye’s chances at a happy ending.

Jordan Kiley can’t imagine anything more frustrating than his current situation. A car accident has left him confined to a hospital bed, his arm painfully pinned in traction. He can’t even feed himself. But when he first lays eyes on the beautiful volunteer, he knows there are far greater challenges awaiting him. Astutely, he senses that Skye’s sparkling wit hides a heart that has been unbearably broken. And Jordan has deep secrets of his own. Can he convince Skye that she is worthy of love—and earn her heart in the process?

BONUS: This edition includes an excerpt from Debbie Macomber's Last One Home.

“It’s impossible not to cheer for Macomber’s characters. . . . When it comes to creating a special place and memorable, honorable characters, nobody does it better than Macomber.”—BookPage

Light, easy reading. Good vacation book. The events were rather predictable but with enough twist to encourage further reading. Enjoyable and light.

1.0 out of 5 stars disapointed in heartsong January 31, 2013
By Beth

I love reading all of Debbie's books. This one was disapointing. I am not into reading about religion. This was filled with it. If I had known I would not have purchased this book. There isn't any mention of religion in the description. I hope my next purchase is rewarding :)

4.0 out of 5 stars Unexpected January 30, 2013
By Brenda
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I love Debbie's books, so when I saw that I could pre-order I didn't hesitate. Although I found the story to be entertaining, I felt it to be way to preachy. Not a bad thing if that was what you were expecting.

3.0 out of 5 stars Usual Macomber book but heavy-handed religion February 7, 2013
By Bette
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I have always enjoyed Debbie Macomber's books, especially the Cedar Cove series. This story was good but this was just TOO heavy-handed with the religion. The male characters conversion was also too quick to be believable. This book would have been better classified as Christian fiction. I know there was a brief mention of "difference of faith" in the blurb but I wish it had been more clear on just how much preaching was involved.

1.0 out of 5 stars Religious February 26, 2013
By Bella
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
The description of the book does not mention that it can be classified as religious-Christian. The main message is about accepting Jesus as your personal Savior and accepting God's plan for you. I have nothing against religion, but please warn me before I buy the book.

1.0 out of 5 stars Heartsong by Debbie Macomber February 8, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I love Debbie Macomber and have read almost all of her books but this one was very disappointing. I really don't like so much conservative religion and that is all this book was. I wish I had known this was nothing but a conservative religious book. I wouldn't had read it.
I really hope she doesn't keep writing like this or I will lose one of my favorite authors.

1.0 out of 5 stars NOT an expected Debbie Macomber read April 6, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I normally love Debbie Macomber's books and have read a tremendous number of them. While I appreciate that Ms. Macomber's stories do not rely (or even contain) graphic sex, her stories have always focused on the relationships between people -- romantic, parent/child, siblings, friends.

Heartsong's CONSTANT religious references not only overpowered the relationship descriptions they negated them totally. The only thing I remember about this book was the preaching, obsessive, and offensive focus on religion -- I don't remember the story or the characters.

This book should not be in the romance category -- it should be in the contemporary Christian category (where I would not have looked).
