4.0 out of 5 stars A great `difficult third` album, August 10, 2004

Do not believe that other reviewer, he doesn't know what he's talking about! This is another great album from Dan Reed and co. Slam is my favorite DRN album, but this one is almost as good - and much better than the first album. Funky, groovy, poppy and melodic... in other words good music.

5.0 out of 5 stars Their best!, April 4, 2011

This is my favorite Dan Reed Network album. The production captures the energy of their "live" band sound very well-- when I put this CD on just now, it gave me the kind of rush I would usually get from sitting in the front row at a concert. The CD is filled with uptempo, hook-filled rock songs ("Baby Now I," "Love Don't Work That Way," "The Lonely Sun," etc.) along with two of Dan Reed's best ballads ("Long Way To Go" and "Let It Go"). There are no concessions to the mainstream pop radio of the time; instead, this is "rock out" music that has aged pretty well.

5.0 out of 5 stars Actually, don't listen to EITHER of these guys (g), October 19, 2007
This review is from: The Heat (Audio CD)
The third effort from DRN proves to be a "charm". IMHO, this is the best album the band has ever recorded. It's heavy, funky and "in your face" rock 'n roll. Even the ballads are very well written. Some of Mr. Reed's lyrics can get a bit "corny" but that's a mere technicality. The quality of the recording is also very good for it's time (released in 1991)

They do a cover of Pink Floyd's "Money" which will rock your socks off and the arrangement is excellent.

Overall, if you're looking for the bottom line in Dan Reed, THIS is the CD/Album to get.
