A must buy,

I haven't purchased an entire album from ANY artist in over 3 years (why buy an enitre album when you can just buy the mp3s of the few songs you like?)....The comes the group NeedtoBreathe, hibernation over :) That's right, it's that good, every single song. Like a previous reviewer said, they did branch out on a few songs, as far as styles go, but it's like having the best of that style. the songwriting, production, message (lyrically), all top notch. Highly recommend!!

Great Album,

I initially heard "We Could Run Away" on Music Choice's alternative rock channel on Comcast Cable. I loved the song and decided to by the cd. I was listening to it for a two weeks before realizing it was contemporary Christian. This is not a genre that I have listened to much, in the past. Wow, I may have been missing out on some great music.
Tracks 1-9 are fantastic, 10-13 are ok and I do like 14, too. You rarely can expect to get 10 great songs out of an album, today. This is coming from someone who includes Radiohead, The Killers, Arctic Monkeys, Led Zepplin, Pink Floyd, Chevelle, Keane, The Racanteurs, Ray LaMontagne, A Perfect Circle and Tool as some of his favorites. I highly recommend this album and look forward to thier next one!

I'm a brand new NTB fan. I heard Nothing to Lose while watching the preview for the new movie Extraordinary Measures and knew I had to get that song. I found it after a search on the internet, and after previewing other songs on the album, I had to purchase the entire album and I'm hooked.
I'm anxious to purchase their other albums and see them live. If I were talented enough to write and perform music, this is what I would hope I could create. The melodies are catchy and the lyrics are smart and have a story to tell. Great music.

Music is the love of my life... I love all music. Not once had I ever found an artist that I could quite literally listen to every song ever recorded by them... Until Needtobreathe. From their freshman album "Daylight". To their Sophmore Hit "The Heat" they have continually amazed me. when their Newest CD "The Outsiders" Came out I was hesitant... I just couldnt Fathom any band Getting better. I was dead Wrong. I Dare someone to Listen to "girl Named Tennessee" ;) Contagious.

Incredible!,

This album instantly became one of my top ten favorite albums of all time (among the several hundred albums I have owned in my life and over 4600 songs on my ipod at this moment)....in spite of the fact that the music is a bit less edgy than most of the stuff I listen to on a regular basis. This is the kind of modern rock music just about anyone can appreciate - the songs have meaning, they are catchy but not cliche, the lead singers' vocals are unique and awesome, the band uses diverse instrumentation and they are gifted musicians (and they are also incredible in concert - have seen them twice).

Shine On Streets of Gold,
This review is from: The Heat (Audio CD)
I'm a huge NTB fan and was prepared to be disappointed with "The Heat"- I didn't think they (Bo, Bear, Joe, Seth) could create another song that would resonate with me the way "Shine On" did/does, but they succeeded with "Streets of Gold".
I was also impressed with NTB's versatility (e.g. bluegrassy portion of "More Time", jazzy parts of "The Heat", riff and chorus in Signature of Divine, just to name a few). I recommend buying The Heat, listening to it, then heading out to a NTB show or two.

Needtobreathe's CD The Heat,
By Eric's Girl "lovesmoviesandbooks" (Virginia) - See all my reviews

this second album is going to be like Needtobreathe's first album, that is, it is goingto be one of those rare albums on which every song is good. You can play it from start to finish, and you never have to skip a song. These songs are products of a master songwriter who knows his craft. The first album had a more coherent sound, which caused some people to say that all their songs sounded kind of the same (I didn't think that, but others did). But on this album, they have really branched out, and tried some different styles, and taken some risks. But every one of them was well worth it, because every style they do, they do it so well. It's just great music!

Had to buy this CD to replace the other one that was scratched from so much use. I have all 4 NEEDTOBREATHE albums and love them all, but THE HEAT remains my favorite. This band writes and performs amazing songs, and THE HEAT is loaded with greatness.
