4.0 out of 5 stars Flying colours, whichever colour you choose!
I would preferably wear these tees every day. Currently I am up far north, battling severe cold and stormy winds. Tomorrow I will be wearing a suit and not much else, for appearance sakes, with UA underwear. The day after I will be doing outdoor sports, with UA underwear. So wearing UnderArmour virtually every day.

1.0 out of 5 stars Not happy with this false advertising
After reading and looking at the product, my son and I were thinking that this was going to be a more supportive shirt to wear under his football gear. We've bought Under Armour tops before in the stores and were very satisfied. Loved the quality and the compression support it gave.

I am into competitive eventing (equestrian sports) and love wearing the suitable thickness of UnderArmour shirt on competitions or cross country training as a single layer. In long sleeve version, it protects against branches hitting your skin, light abrasions and dries in a whisk. You NEVER get wet or dry up instantly, summer or winter, rain or sunshine. Competitive riding is an all weather and every day test, not only for clothes, and Under Armour passes it with flying colours, whichever colour you choose. A jacket as single outer layer will suffice for a warm up, after which you can happily wear it as a single layer.

The quality of the fabric is superb and stays well over many washing cycles. I always wash them luke warm, in fear of shrinkage, and am not so happy with the fabric retaining some odour at these washing temperatures. Also I must confess that I feel the Coldgear stuff is a bit stiffer, less stretchy than the light and thin Heatgear, especially the model with the "metallic" surface. The result is that it pulls up your back easier, exposing your lower back to the elements. Also I ran into a sale of a "Nike factory store", which on that day only, sold "Nike Fit" underwear. Strikingly similar to the Under Armour Heatgear it was at less than half the price. Not bad either, but not quite the same quality. Good second choice but a second choice.

1.0 out of 5 stars Not happy with this false advertising, August 18, 2010
After reading and looking at the product, my son and I were thinking that this was going to be a more supportive shirt to wear under his football gear. We've bought Under Armour tops before in the stores and were very satisfied. Loved the quality and the compression support it gave.

This particular top was nothing like what it read on the description!
It read on the description... "81% Polyester and 19% Elastine".... when we receieved the product we were very dissatisfied. We may as well just gone to Target and purchased a regular long sleeve top there.
It is very thin material, hold it up to the light and you can see thru it. Other Under Armour products we bought we held it to the light and you weren't able to see thru. There was no "copmpression" feel to it at all. Just another long sleeved tee.
Well we looked at the tag and it read "94% polyester and 6% Elastine..."!!!
A waste of money and false advertsing on this product makes me once again, say no to "online shopping".

5.0 out of 5 stars second skin, February 10, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This is definitely a compression shirt. I usually were a large sized shirt, but I found that getting one size larger, XL, is a good fit. The large size, which I also ordered, is a tighter, snug fit. Under Armour is a better quality garment than other brands. The I also order the short sleeve in XL. This is a must garment in any athletic wardrobe. Don't be afraid to pick a color, other than black, like crimson, or green.

3.0 out of 5 stars Runs much larger than the Cold Gear mock, January 10, 2011
By
Have several Under Armour ColdGear mocks, which I've worn in a variety of climates. Figured I'd try out the HeatGear top, for giggles, and bought a couple in the same size (medium) as my existing ColdGear mocks.

Unless my head has grown dramatically over the last year (I have been reading a lot of books), the neck opening on the HeatGear top is much smaller and less stretchy than its ColdGear cousin. Once I finally did manage to weasel my noggin' through the hole (I felt like I was being birthed by some supernatural nylon being), I found the sleeves to be loose-fitting and a bit long. I looked more like a sporty medieval peasant in a polyester smock than a serious athlete whose cooling properties needed enhancing.

Under Armor was very helpful and gladly accepted my return. I will stick to the CoolGear product for now; snug fit and great water-wicking capabilities keep my temperature regulated across a variety of climates.

2.0 out of 5 stars Works well but bad quality, May 4, 2011

I practice Muay Thai about 4 times a week and purchased one of these for its wicking effect. The shirt works as advertised -- it pulls away moisture and can help to keep you comfortable and dry during practice. However, the overall quality of the shirt and its material is poor -- after just wearing it one time, i noticed that the material catches rather easily on other things, like velcro, fingernails, or just as part of normal wear and tear. After just a few weeks the shirt is pretty beat up. I plan on purchasing something similar by a different manufacturer - like Everlast, Title MMA or Pirahna Gear.

3.0 out of 5 stars Got a hole in Left elbow, January 20, 2011

This seemed OK, but for $35 I was surprized it wore a hole in the left elbow area in just a few months of use.

3.0 out of 5 stars Material was different from others advertised., October 20, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I bought one two weeks before and it was a cloth material. the sieze was medium yet it fitted very large. I liked it though so i deceided to purchase another, a small since the medium was still large. On doing so i got a silk material top that was extremly small. Its nice i do admit but it fits my girlfriend not me.

5.0 out of 5 stars Under Armour does not disappoint., March 30, 2010

I didn't understand why people spent so much money on what I thought were essentially longjohns, but having actually worn them I would say they're well worth the money. These have reduced my recovery time between workouts and have kept me cool and dry. I highly recommend them.

4.0 out of 5 stars ok product, yet..., January 29, 2012
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
Overall I would say this is another top quality product from Under Armour, a brand that always impresses me for durability. I use it for MMA practices, thus this shirt does take a lot of abuse and washes. It still looks like new, the stitching hangs in there intact. It does help to eliminate the sweat quite quickly. So why 4 stars and not 5? well, I wish it had a 4.5 stars because that would be the ideal rating for me. The only thing I am not ok with it: it does feel a little hot when I wear it. I had another compression long sleeve shirt from this brand that I bought about 3-4 years ago, and that one feels cooler. This one is called a heatGear, yet I am failing to see it as being such ( or at least as being better than the former). It does stretch a little more, so in that sense it's more comfortable. That said, I would buy it again since I have not found another brand that does similar product with better performance and had 3X size available

My son loves them. Keeps him warm and not sweaty at the same time. Also very light weight. He talked my older son into them also.
