Good price, lasts for at least 10 hours,

The case of heatmax HotHands2 hand warmers is the easiest way to buy hand warmers in bulk. And the price is better than speciality stores (at ~$23 per. 40).
The label says "10 hours", but in my experience while they might not be as hot after 10 they are often good for 12-14 hours (and much better than other similar products that advertise 8 hours, but go cloder after 7).

I don't know how I ever managed without these!,
This review is from: HotHands-Case of 240 Pairs (Misc.)
If there was a 10 star rating available, these would get my 10-star vote! BEST PRODUCT EVER!Last year (the week of November 22 of 2010), my area was hit with an unexpected blizzard. We were COMPLETELY unprepared, and my husband, daughter, and our 4 tropical rescue parrots almost all died due to hypothermia and frostbite. After that blizzard, I swore that I would never go through that again, and made sure to stock up on everything imaginable that would keep us safe and warm, and made a huge emergency supply kit. Keeping tropical birds warm with no electricity/heat was a HUGE concern of mine (we're not allowed a generator where we are!), and I had to brainstorm any alternatives that may work to keep not just them, but our HUMAN family warm as well in a case of no heat/power. During a trip to the local store, I saw the HotHands-2 10 hour heat packs and rolled my eyes. I had never used one of these products, but thought to myself, "How can some silly little pouch keep me warm!?" My young daughter who was along for the shopping trip had complained of being cold while we were on our way there via city bus, so I bought one, just to see if it would keep her a little LESS frigid on the way home.... We opened the hand warmers, gave them a shake and stuck them in her pockets. IMMEDIATELY, I noticed the hand warmers start to build a mild heat! About 10 minutes later, my daughter started asking me to take them out of her pockets because they were getting TOO HOT!!! Sure enough, they were scorching hot! Took them out of her pockets and put them into mine, and they stayed SO nice and warm that I put them under my covers that night, and they heated my bed for a good 10 hours! I went back to the store the very next day and bought a case - they're AWESOME, and I don't know how we managed before! Now I know that my family and our birds can all keep warm - SAFELY! (Our birds have tent-type beds that are fuzzy. I have simply sewn a pouch onto the underside so that there is a thick barrier between bird and wamer, and slip a hand warmer in if I need to!) There are a few CONS, however..... 1 - They don't get TOASTY HOT immediately! Don't be discouraged, and hold onto them for a while so that they can heat up! Also...do not keep taking them out and shaking them! When you do, they cool down until they are back in your pocket again! If you leave them stationary in your pockets/gloves, etc. they will warm back up! There were several times when I first bought them that I THOUGHT they went "dead" on me within a few short hours, but I left them in my pocket for a while, and they heated back up - super hot! 2 - Don't fall asleep with them close to skin - they WILL burn you! lol I learned that the silly way. Unfortunately, if they'd burn an adult, they would burn a child as well, so monitor their warmth if you are having your children use them! 3 - They are a bit small. I've seen larger versions of this same warmer from HotHands, so browse their products a bit, unless this is the size that you truly need! The PROS - 1 - They seem to last more than their 10 hour label, so you ARE going to have some time with these! Not a bogus product that makes promises, but can't deliver! 2 - They DO get really hot! 3 - They are VERY inexpensive and found in many places, so they're an easy buy! 4 - They have NO ODOR and are non-toxic!

Better than expected,

My wife has problems with cold hands anytime the temp goes below 45 degrees. Though 240 pairs sounds like a lot of handwarmers, between the two of us we will go through all of these in one season. They really do keep your hands warm. I have found that my hands stay warm even in near Zero degree temp while using my snowblower to clear a very long drive.
