3.0 out of 5 stars Hot book, but weak plot
Nobia Bryant is one of my favourite writers in this genre, I've read all her books and was looking forward to this one. I must say this book has some extremly heated love scenes (I intend to perform them for myself-lol) but the plot is a bit weak, it needed a stronger story line.

In her first installment of the "Hot Holtsville Series" featuring the Strong brothers, Niobia Bryant treats readers to a taste of the tantalizing Kahron Strong of Holtsville, South Carolina.

When veterinarian Bianca King's estranged father frantically needs her help, she drops everything, leaving her peaceful serenity in Georgia enroute to Holtsville, a place she vowed never to return. Bianca discovers the horse ranch in disarray, a stark contrast from that of her childhood. Money is short, but his wife, who is three years older than Bianca, is still spending it, his clients are no longer using his services and to top things off her father has become an alcoholic. And now Kahron Strong wants to buy the ranch for his own personal gain.

Kahron wants to expand his business but the King's ranch is impeding his progress. During one of his visits to the ranch to inquire on its purchase Kahron meets Bianca. They share a mutual attraction for each other until her father returns home and blames Kahron for the mysterious incidents that keep plaguing the ranch. When Bianca herself becomes a target for whoever wishes the ranch's demise, the purchase of the ranch is the last thing on Kahron's mind. While in the midst of trying to nab the perpetrator Kahron and Bianca find themselves falling in love.

Niobia Bryant has penned an awe-inspiring tale of finding true love no matter the consequence. Bianca goes against her father's wishes and seeks refuge in the arms of a man he despises. Kahron promised himself, after one failed relationship, he would never fall in love again. However, forces beyond their control will lead them down the path of a never-ending romance. Thoroughly enjoyed and highly recommend HEATED is sure to please.

5.0 out of 5 stars Heated Indeed!, June 7, 2006

Well she has done it again. Here is another good book from Ms. Bryant. This book has humor, mystery, misunderstandings, intrigue, trust issues (I could go on) and a whole chapter devoted to a love scene! Gracious! I read this book in a day. I cannot wait for the other books in the Strong series! Be sure to check out her other books as well. You will not be disappointed.

4.0 out of 5 stars Holtsville here I come!!, July 20, 2006

I guess all of the hot men are in Holtsville!! I've guess I'd to move there. Heated is a refreshing story about rekindling a relationship between father and daughter. To add to the mix are two other characters one wanting to purchase the family ranch and the other a freeloading step mother. Put this all together and you have a wonderful read and awesome love scenes to boot.

5.0 out of 5 stars Air conditioning AND a fan required...., June 7, 2006

Niobia Bryant's latest book "Heated" is just that...hot!

After coming back to Holtsville to help her estranged father save the family ranch, Bianca King has to deal with an evil young stepmother, frightening criminal mishaps and a nagging doubt that Kahron Strong -- the man responsible for the butterflies in her stomach and an overly rapid heartbeat -- may also be responsible for those mishaps.

Kahron, with his sexy, southern charm and Bianca, veterinarian extraordinaire were wonderful together. They were passionate, humorous and touching. "Heated" also offers Ms. Bryant's trademark sexy, love scenes that make you melt.

I am so looking forward to meeting all the Strong men, in particular Kade, Kahron's older brother. After reading "Heated" it feels as though I've just pulled up a chair inside the Strong family living room and I'm waiting around for the others to join the party. Well done, Ms. Bryant!

5.0 out of 5 stars Land, or love, or maybe both.?, June 8, 2006

If you want to read a book that is boring, with no flow, weak women and bullheaded man. Run and don't get this book!!. Niobia has done it again.

This story starts off fast with Bianca King, going back home to clean up the mess that her father has made for the past 15 years, keep in mind that is the only reason why she returns home. Kahron is a rancher who is wants to purchase the beat up place from Bianca father. Sounds easy at first but when the sparks start to light up, can both parties get what they want, and still be ok ?. Niobia wrote this story so hot, all I am saying is please have a cold glass of water sitting next to you. I admit I had to go back and re-read some chapters, (for research lol). What I loved was the fact that Bianca would not hold her tongue for ANYONE. Kahron is the male version of Bianca which is what made them so right for each other. Bianca had BIG trust issues; how can you care for a man that you haven't known long enough,? who may or may not be trying to sabotage your father's business, and most important playing you for a fool,? Then a father who you should pledge your undying support for but because of his own demons, he hasn't been there for you. ?

Kahron is trying to figure out why he can't keep his mind off this feisty women all he wants to do is buy the beat up land and have a little fun but he can't help himself when when it comes to this women. At first Kahron is sure he could have fun and walk away BUT when someone is now putting HIS women life in danger he is not going out like that. This story really made you laugh, cry and think of going for a visit in the woods. (hmm). I found myself wanting to keep reading about this couple. My only problem with the book was the town Holtsville SC is fictional because I wouldn't mind a cowboy. (smile)

If your already a fan you will not be disappointed. If your a new to Niobia work read this book and then run don't walk and pick up her previous work, because once you read this you will be back.

I simply loved this story. You know I read all 4 stories about the Strong men in sequence. I had bought "The Hot Spot" first and loved it so much, that I had to buy the other 3 stories. Then, I read "The Hot Spot" again, after I had read the other 3. It was a very wise decision. It was also a lot of fun!!! Whew!!! You all should try it, you just might like it!!! I sure did!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Good reading on a cold winter day., March 30, 2011
This review is from: Heated (Mass Market Paperback)
I liked this story the best so far. I read the stories on Kaeden and Kade but I liked Kahron and Bianca the most. I liked their chemistry together. I liked how comfortable and up front they were with each other. Some of the story line was kind of predictable (her father's wife) but, it was still a good book. I liked how he gave her the nickname 'B' but then when he got mad he switched it back to Bianca. There were some grammatical errors, but not enough to advise not to read the book. I don't think anyone will be disappointed.
