A beautiful purple martin house.
Jay
The replacement birdhouse was one that was returned from another customer - they just scratched out the name and reshipped it - already broke!

This house is very well built and beautiful.

This is a well constructed Martin house. It requires that you attach with supplied screws the last two pieces of roofing. This allows shipping in a more compact box. It will require the removal of some screws to clean out the house in the future. It comes with its own pole mounting bracket of which I was not aware. It is sturdy and heavy.

This is a very well constructed house and it's not huge but a good size for a regular backyard. I do wonder how i'llbe able to clean it out easily but will cross that bridge when I get to it. Top comes off rather easily but the 1st floor nests might be more of a challenge. Doesn't come with the pole and if you buy the pole please know you'll need to buy ready mix concrete to secure the pole because it's tall and needs the extra support. Bought the house in May so I missed the window for is year but am looking forward to Purple Martins next year.

A beautiful purple martin house. Have it up on the pole that Heath sells. Now just need a neon "Vacancy" sign to get the picky purple martins to stop in and rest a spell.

I now know why this house was so much less expensive than the rest of the purple martin houses. Because you have to paint it yourself, which is no easy feat. See those little perches in front of the condos? See the fronts of the condos themselves? Well have fun figuring out how to paint them. In retrospect, I think I'd have better chosen to paint them with spray paint rather than brush painting them, but in the end, it turned out beautifully to be honest. We were very impressed with the construction, although if the house is supposed to be deconstructed by taking part of the roof off, I would think there would be a better way to do that besides having to unscrew and rescrew, since over time, that will definitely take its toll on the wood. I wonder why Heath doesn't come up with a more efficient way, like a simple hinge and clasp lock system?

At this point, we are just happy to have our house up and on the market for any purple martins in the neighborhood. Crossing our fingers they find it!

This house is very well built and beautiful. Was packaged well and came in perfect condition. My only concern is that the rooms are to small for the Martins. They are suppose to be no smaller them 6"X6" and these rooms are not quite 5"X5". I am going to install the house in the yard and will write a new review if we succeed in attracting Martins. Also in reading up on being a landlord to them it says they are attracted to white houses with any color trim you please and not to leave them out over the winter so other birds can occupy the house before the Martins have a chance. Once Martins occupy the house they will fight to keep it year after year. I will paint the house white and may move the inside dividers so there is more room and will write another review either then end of the season or next year. But, like I said this is very made made and is beautiful to look at. I gave it 4 stars because of the room size but may change to 5 at my next review.
