Hook is 8 feet long measuring from very bottom of the pole around the radius to the bottom of the hook. Thus, when installed in the ground, the actual hook is only about 6 feet from the ground. So this places the perch of a "normal" size bird feeder (e.g., the Brome 1024) about 4 feet from the ground -- much lower than desired. In addition, the hook is green and not black as it appears in the photo. On the positive side, it does appear to be sturdy. But would not have ordered this product had I been aware of the actual height of the hook from the ground.

Hook arrived as one piece in perfect condition. The label on the pole required a little effort to remove but it did not damage the paint.

Simple but does the job. We have a heavy Brome Squirrel Buster BD-1024 Bird Feeder hanging from it. So far we have not seen any squirrels able to climb the pole.

This pole is not as tall as advertised. Once it's inserted into the ground, the pole is closer to 6' long. We have the Brome 1024 feeder and it is about 4' off the ground hung from this pole. It looks pretty silly. Additionally, the pole bends when a feeder is hung from it. And as previously reviewed, the yellow sticker is impossible to remove. Overall, quite a lot of money for something I wish I could return.

Update: After two days, the pole has bent more and fallen over. We had the Brome 1024 feeder half-full hanging from it, but the pole has bent under the weight and eventually fell to the ground. I hope to return it, as the price is hefty for 2 days of use. Not sure how shipping back will go without the original box it came in.

This is a nice sturdy stick in the ground hanger for bird feeders or potted plants. My husband was amazed that an 8 food long one piece pole can be delieveed by UPS. It does hang down lower for heavier feeders. I believe a squirrel could jump from the ground easily when the pole bends down on a 5 pound plus feeder. There are sturdier products on the market but they cost more. This one does the job, it is attractive and easy to use. The leg that sticks out with the second about a foot long so I think there are definite weight limits to what this feeder pole can support.

The complaints about this product are correct: the sticker is hard to remove and height is misleading. With a little effort the sticker can be removed and the 6' actual height is fine for me (I don't have a squirrel problem and I use small feeders). Since I am Amazon Prime, this was shipped to me free-of- additional charge. Compared to other hangers that I can buy locally, this one is less expensive, and it is substantial and looks good. For me, this product is a good value.

This pole will only hold a lightweight feeder... Set in the ground it is about 6- 6.5 ft in height but is too pliable to handle anything more than a feeder with about a pound of seed.

First of all I am surprised that UPS even delivered this being 8 feet long. It is shipped well packaged in heavy cardboard and plastic wrap. This was purchased to hang the Brome Squirrel Buster Bird Feeder. An excellent product purchased from Amazon, read review. What I like about this product is the flexibility to place it almost anywhere. It is well constructed but to my amazement the squirrels have no difficulty climbing this extremely thin pole. It may take them a few tries but they can do it. With the Brome Feeder attached they are wasting their time. The reach is too far and they simply fall to the ground. If you need to attach a feeder put this on your short shopping list.

I like the look of the Bird feeder Garden Hook, but was very disappointed that it's not really 8 feet from top to bottom much less when you stick it in the ground. I put it in the middle of the yard so squirrels couldn't leap onto it but they quickly realized they can climb the pole with ease. So far the squirrels are sharing the seeds with the birds but I'm not sure how long that will last.

I got my mom this for mother's day. It arrived very fast and in good condition. For the price it's quite sturdy. Even though I thought the person talking about the sticker was a moron, I have to admit it took a long time to get off. I don't understand why they didn't put it on the bottom half that you put into the ground, or use one that isn't so thick and potent. Anyways my mom used the pole to hang her hummingbird feeder. I have high expectations and just say it does the job, but my mom seems happy with it, probably since I gave it to her.
