Heath Zenith's SL-5512 bundles a motion sensor and a two-light halogen floodlight in a single package, but with a lot of extra features you don't see in similar setups.

Unlike most motion-activated security lights, this one features "pulse count" technology that reduces the number of times that lamps are triggered due to wind and rain. In addition, the "Dual Brite" feature allows you to use it for low-level accent lighting in addition to the full-light effect you get with motion-activation (an included timer allows you to set low-light mode for three hours, six hours, or dusk to dawn-an automatic photocell deactivates the unit in daylight). The unit also includes a selectable timer that lets you set the amount of time the lights stay on after motion stops. Alternatively, it includes a manual override that lets you turn the light on and off at will via an existing indoor switch.

The sensor has a range of up to 70 feet and detects motion in a wide 240-degree range with a maximum 21,000-square-foot detection zone. The detection range is adjustable, too, so you can make sure the floodlights don't go on every time a car drives by.

We had two of these lights installed about 2' below the eaves on the second floor. Basically, they work very inconsistently based on the weather. On cold nights, they seem to work fine. On windy and rainy nights, the lights stay on constantly (so much for the claim that this light "...features 'pulse count' technology that reduces the number of times that lamps are triggered due to wind and rain.") Tech support states that the lights pointing down and the sensor pointing down (both of which are necessary for second floor installation) will trigger the motion detector. They also state that this model is more suited for first floor installation. Seems like a bad design to me. I've seen other lights where the MD sensor is positioned farther away from the lights which should help eliminate the false triggering. We will be returning these and likely trying the RAB mentioned by another reviewer.

The sensor did not detect consistantly. Depending on the temperature, it either came on too easy or not at all. I ended up replacing it with a RAB motion sensor light. Then I removed the sensor from this thing and now use it as a switched back-door light. Do yourself a favor and forget about these. Get a RAB motion sensor light - They work!

Wired it up - it didn't work. Triple checked the wiring, to no avail. Had to return the item to Amazon.
