The Heath Zenith Wireless Command, SL-6037-WH solar powered motion activated driveway alert combines the convenience of motion activated lighting with the security of an audible alert. The solar powered motion sensor stake can be placed in the yard or landscaping where needed to detect movement without wiring up to 100 feet away from plug-in alert. The solar motion sensor stake comes with two rechargeable AA batteries. The sensor features 360 degree motion detection angle up to 70 feet away with selectable sensitivity and light timer of 1 or 5 minutes. When motion is detected, the lamp attached to the plug-in will turn on and audible alert will sound. The plug-in alert receiver features control of lights up to 300 watts incandescent light and adjustable audible alert volume control. The Heath Zenith Wireless Command solar-powered driveway alert set carries a two year warranty.

If you are looking for a simple solution to let you know when someone is approaching your home, consider the Solar Powered Wireless Outdoor Motion Sensor Alert System. The kit comes with a solar powered motion sensor that can be placed in the ground using the included stake attachment. The adjustable sensor detects motion up to 70 feet away with a 360 degree field of view, and can operate for a full 24 hours or at night only. The sensor is solar powered, so there is now wiring involved and is ready for use in seconds. When movement has been detected, a radio frequency (RF) signal is sent from the sensor to the included plug-in receiver module. The receiver has a built-in chime module that offers an audible alert and an optional plug for connecting a lamp for visual alert. The motion sensor and receiver module can be used up to 100 feet apart making this product the ideal alert system for notifying you of movement near a driveway, front porch, side yard, or backyard. The solar powered motion sensor is powered by two AAA NiMH rechargeable batteries, included.

Everything about this device was wrong. The fully charged sensor would not trigger a reaction from the receiver/alarm unless in the same room. The sensor case is almost impossible to pull apart in order to make settings. The tiny "manual" is extremely poor. The only good thing: Amazon.com gave a prompt, complete refund.

This eats up the expensive rechargeable batteries. It will work for about 10 days or so, and then stops. When I take it apart, and check with a multimeter, the solar cells are working just fine. Fresh batteries make it work again, but they have to be rechargeable. After a few days in the Houston heat and humidity, the rechargeable batteries are dead and will no longer hold a charge. Then it's time to install new batteries.

Not recommended. It cannot be relied upon to dependably work and inform you when someone has approached the door.

I have contacted Heath Zenith, and they state that rechargeable batteries in the heat of a Houston summer cannot be reasonably be expected to last more than a month or so. Perhaps the batteries will last longer over the winter here in Houston (all 4 weeks of it).

Definitly will not purchase any Heath Zenith items again.

I think I wasted my money-- the thing works great while you are standing in front of it ,holding it--once you place it in the yard it has trouble finding itself!!
