With the SL-6164, you get the added benefit of being able to choose from 64 tunes-if you'd like your doorbell to play Deck the Halls, Hava Nagila, The Magnificent Seven, or even bird sounds, all of these tunes (and 60 more) are selectable using a slide switch and jumper inside the chime. You can also select from 128 code settings (which allow the doorbell to communicate with the chime) to make sure your neighbor's wireless systems don't set of your chime.
The battery for the push button is included, along with all the mounting hardware you'll need. Note that you will have to supply three D batteries for the chime.--Josh Dettweiler

This video shows the process of changing songs on the Heath Zenith musical doorbell. Songs on the doorbell are mostly children's tunes- ("Farmer in the Dell" for your chime, anyone? How about "Little brown jug"? You can be the ice cream man house) but the holiday ones are cute.

I moved into an "inlaw" apartment above the garage of a typical house and garage property. I receive many deliveries, and so I installed the doorbell by the front gate, about 40 feet away. It works like a charm, right through one wall. I can locate the receiver anywhere inside my apartment and hear it quite well. I enjoy all the tune selections. It has a nice melodic "music box" effect, and has never yet failed to go off when the button is pushed.
It worked so well that I installed a second button inside of the curbside mailbox, about 60 feet from the receiver. The mail carrier in this area drives from box to box, and he really appreciates the ability to ring the bell located inside the mail box, when he needs a signature or has a package too big for the mailbox. He never has to leave his mail truck. I hid the extra button inside the mailbox, out of the sight of the neighborhood children, as it might be tempting for them to ring it for fun if it were seen outside of the mailbox. The second button was sold separately, and has the ability to ring a second sound to make it possible for me to tell by the tune which bell has been rung. The second tune is just "ding dong", but the first bell can ring dozens of melodies. Also, both bells can be made to ring the same tune, if you do not want a musical clue about which bell is ringing. Theoretically, one could add as many extra buttons as wanted, although only two tunes would play, at maximum. My landlady thinks I'm very "high tech" to have installed this simple, wireless doorbell system. I am very happy with it, and will take it with me when I move!

Greensleeves, oh my!,

I did a price search prior to purchasing and Amazon was clearly the least expensive with the added bonus of FS. When it arrived it took minutes to set up and it worked perfectly! The color is the same as pictured, not a bright white, but not off white either. Greensleeves is one of my favorite songs so I was very pleased it was a choice. The volume is adjustable and loud is LOUD. To change a tune, you select A-D w/ a tiny push up/down switch. Each letter represents 16 songs w/ corresponding pins. I have small hands but it was still a bit tricky to pull out the "pin connector" and reinsert it on the desired pins. The next time I will either use car fuse tongs or tweezers. I wish the song section had a dot or # at every 4th song, as I had to get my reading glasses out to make certain I was selecting the desired song. As a plus they include a few extra pin connectors, I guess they anticipated it would get dropped and lost since they are small and black in color, maybe red would have been a better color choice. You can also change the chime and doorbell button codes if you have wireless interference, basically the same process as changes the song. All screws and double faced tape is included and the doorbell battery. The only thing you need to have on hand is 3 D batteries. I plan on changing the songs throughout the holiday season since at least 6-8 or more are holiday songs. I think it is a great unusual door chime that has the advantage of working during hurricane season.
