She made me believe in soulmates...,
By allie-kat (N.B., Canada) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Heather and Velvet (Mass Market Paperback)
This is my second Teresa Medeiros novel and I wasn't disappointed!! I just finished reading it and I'm still sitting here with a silly grin on my face. This was a definete page turner! I just had to know what was going to happen next. The action never once stopped and never once was I bored or tempted to skim pages.I absolutely loved the way Prudence slowly evolved from the prim and proper "spinster" who had been neglected and walked over all her life to the strong, beautiful woman she had been meant to be. She blossomed so beautifully throughout the book. But what struck me the most was how Sebastian saw the beauty she hid underneath the tight chignon and the heavy spectacles. He knew almost immediately that she was the one meant for him and she and only she could invoke the magical and deeply stirring effect on him that love and only true love can create. I came to believe that they were soul mates and I loved that no matter what happened to them, they were always inexplicably drawn back to each other. They fought to overcome the odds and it was breathtaking to watch... because I felt as though I there beside Jamie watching it all unfold. I loved the secondary characters. They filled me full of tenderness or made me laugh out loud. And in the end I truly cared about them almost as much as Prudence and Sebastian. Of course there were a couple of characters that I despised... but it was fun to hate them. The story was filled with laugh-out loud humour and I found myself giggling quietly as best I could so not to wake my husband as I read. I was touched and moved by this book... I cannot wait to read another one!! I am so glad I found this author! She is amazing.

A book that reads itself,

This review is from: Heather and Velvet (Mass Market Paperback)
This book is filled with so many twist and turns I just love it. One right after the other. I love how Ms. Mederios dares to do some of the things she does in this book. The only problem I have with this book is it's a little choppy here and there, but besides that its all good. The middle was a little boring as well....overall I recommend it, this book hold new concepts and is just refreshing. One thing I thought that was particularly sweet is how both of these characteres are truly obessed with each in their own thoughts....alright stop reading this and go buy this :)

First Romance Novel Ever Read,
By Davina Richmond (Cool Ridge, WV USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Heather and Velvet (Mass Market Paperback)
Heather and Velvet was the first romance novel I ever read and it opened up a whole new world of reading to me. I have read every book Teresa Mederios has written. She is the best writer I've ever read and believe me, I've read a lot since Heather and Velvet. This book was dramatic, funny, had a lot of history entwined in it's plot. I highly recommend this book to everyone. I enjoyed this book so much that I was able to finish reading it in 6 hours. I couldn't put it down. I had to know what was going to happen next.

Prudence Walker's life will never be the same after she meets a masked highwayman one dark and stormy night on a lonely road. Prudence Walker's life will never be the same after she meets Sebastian Kerr, her aunt's fiance'. Once she realizes the highwayman and her aunt's fiance' are one and the same, the real adventure begins, and love weaves it's magical web around the two of them. This book launched me into the world of historical romance.

A light and fun romance!!!,
By Tams (Arkansas) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Heather and Velvet (Mass Market Paperback)
This book was a really sweet and humourous romantic story. The heroine Prudence Walker accidentally foils the infamous highway robber The Dreadful Scot Bandit Kirkpatrick injuring him. Prudence decides to help Kirkpatrick as a means to provide some adventure in her very boring life. They are instantly attracted to one another.
Sebastian Kerr's (aka Kirkpatric) time with Prudence made him realize that he needed a more respectful way to gain the funds to get his castle back from Laird McKay, who had seized the property upon his father's death. He decides the best way to save himself would be to marry an heiress. Imagine both Prudence and Sebastian's surprise when he comes to visit his finacee, and it is none other than Prudence's guardian and aunt. Sebastian and Prudence's attraction continues to grow during his engagement. Unfortunately, Sebastian is quite in over his head. He has more problems than his criminal profession and loss of estate. He needs a means to break free from the "boss" of his crime ring. Will Sebastian be able to save himself? Will Sebastian and Prudence be able to find away to be together? I really enjoyed this book. It was very humourous and I found myself laughing over and over. There was also alot of enjoyable interaction between hero and heroine building their attraction and the resulting tension was very strong. This was a very fun read.

I have owned this book since it first hit the shelves. Since then, I have read it more times than I can count. Mrs. Medeiros has written a story that will stick in my mind for years and years to come. She brought those characters to life! Sebastian and Prudence are so real you can almost believe that they are alive, living somewhere, hoplessly in love. And isn't that what a romance novel is all about? To bring love into this world?

This was a very well written book, the scenes were almost poetic, the words were fluid and the descriptions were so good i could picture all the scenes so cleary in my head. I recommend this book to anyone looking for a good and original romance, you will laugh, cry and smile.

Refreshing,
This review is from: Heather and Velvet (Mass Market Paperback)
Over the past 15 years, I've developed a low tolerance for bad romance novels. I toss aside (with disgust) more books than I finish. This book, however, was a keeper. Granted, there were quite a few misunderstandings, and any other author may not have been able to pull off the plot, but Teresa Medeiros managed it beautifully. Prudence and Sebastian were believable and enjoyable characters. I can't wait to read more from this author.

This book is so good. It has charming emotion, cutting witt, and humor. This novel also has a certain appeal to it, maybe it's the magic of the highlands. Throughout this book, I felt as if I were in the gang of bandits watching it all. Pru should've been a little more angry with Sebastian, but I totally loved this book. I hope Ms. Medeiros writes many more just like it.

Great love lines/scenes, too much misunderstanding!,
This review is from: Heather and Velvet (Mass Market Paperback)
Enjoyed Charming the Prince a lot... This story had a lot of potential, too. The story move through so many different locations/scenes at times it was hard to follow and seemed fragmented. Sabastian had some of the most erotic/exciting lines in this book. The hero and heroine were a little hard for me to get to love since he was such a horrible criminal most of the book and she was so up tight about so many things. I hate the parts that Sabastian insists on marrying Prudence's aunt even though they know they belong with each other (sort of). The love tension between the two were well depicted, but I agreed with the last reviewer that there were too many lies. Each of them were trying to do what they thought were best for the other by lying, druging, or something else. Can we have a little honesty? Anyway, some of the love scenes were incredible and I could feel the torment between the two. I would still read her books.
